He'd win by a landslide and you know it.

do u know how ontologically evil you have to be for everyone to cheer when you die

Henry Kissinger is dead. An utter nihilist devoted to being close to power his entire life. He thinly disguised psychopathy as strategy. He poisoned our future before most of us were ever born. He was responsible for the deaths of millions. Whatever hell exists is entirely too good for him.

Well this is mildly worse and more confusing than I expected

Remember Magic the Gathering? Here’s what it looks like now

Finally reading Arendt's EICHMANN IN JERUSALEM and sat up with recognition at the idea that the Nazi "movement" kept becoming more radical until it outpaced its own "members"... until they could no longer "jump over their own shadow" as Hitler himself put it. 1/2

Let it be known that one of the last great Appalachian mountain men died and was buried this week. He was 88 years old and was my uncle. He was funny, he loved animals deeply (he fell and broke his hip while trying to feed the cats) he was funny and loving and his name was Hack. God Rest Hack.

"Who is Janet?" — George Santos, when texted about Janet Yellen

The inherent problem with almost every take on the current national/global chaos is that it treats these situations as having immediate broad simple solutions as next steps without having an actual plan of what to do. No clear goals or ways of achieving them.

It is a depressing reality that globally there will be more authoritarian, brutally conservative governments are going to be more and more the norm. Less rights for LGBT. More stringent immigration laws. More human rights abuses. Less justice, accountability and mercy.

If you are using Osama Bin Laden as an argument for a cease fire you are 1) bad at making a winning case and 2) an idiot/asshole

In 1976, a book called GOLFING FOR CATS by British satirist Alan Coren came out with a big SWASTIKA on the cover. Coren explained that he wanted to help shops promote his work and the three most popular categories of books at the time were Sports, Pets, and the Third Reich. I still think about it.

to anyone here who actually, in good faith, want people to vote biden: yelling at the disenfranchised voters. guilting them. insulting them will not get them to vote for biden. if anything youre making them less likely to do so. get a better tactic- a fruit basket? idk im not doing ur work for u

At this point in my medical journey this guys looking solid

Mad about the shelving of Coyote VS Acme? Then push for Congress to pass Zaslav’s Law. If a film is shelved solely for a tax write off, it becomes the property of the cast & crew. They can then do whatever they want with it, & keep whatever money it makes.

If you are expecting the Europeans to lead the way in common sense climate policy: boy are you wrong. Somehow the EU listed "wood" as renewable so more forests were cut down to make wood pellets to burn for electricity. Which is more wasteful and harmful for the environment than oil or gas.

This makes me think that maybe the climate apocalypse is a good thing

Anybody looking at Israel vs Hamas and trying to find out who are the actual good guys. There are no good guys. Everybody is uniquely terrible going back many decades. The only ones to root for are the ones who have had their homes blown up and their families slaughtered.

If you poison the information pipeline to voters, you can kill democracy — it relies on informed consent of the governed, built on a shared sense of reality. That shared sense is splintering in ways that are tearing apart our societies, often based on widely held delusions. Musk made it way worse.

I wrote about what I call “The Red Queen Fallacy”—the toxic myths of “hustle culture,” and why so many of us feel like we’re living a “checklist existence.” Stop the doom scrolling and read something a bit uplifting instead: www.forkingpaths.co/p/the-red-qu...
