It’s Robert Altman’s birthday. McCabe & Mrs Miller is one of my favourite films. Sublimely melancholy & exquisitely shot by Vilmos Zsigmond with a haunting Leonard Cohen soundtrack. Beatty at his best. And that heartbreaking scene with Keith Carradine. ‘I got poetry in me’ Yes, you do, Mr McCabe.
