75 years ago 2day the Korean War began.Still looked at as the forgotten war.The US lost 37K servicemen.South Korea suffered nearly 1mil casualties,North Korea nearly 1.5mil.Red China had 400k KIA. 70 yrs ago OTD the #BrooklynDodgers made a fateful decision. They demoted pitcher #TommyLasorda & promoted pitcher #SandyKoufax. Both men made the Baseball Hall of Fame- Tommy as a Dodgers manager and Sandy as a pitcher. Things worked out for #MLB!!!!

This was in 1944 the Longest Day. The Allied invasion of Hitler’s Fortress Europe. It was the largest amphibious assault in WW2 and spelled the beginning of the end for the Nazi regime. 11 months later VE Day occurred. The cost in human lives was enormous. Freedom is never free.
