Music about which one could justifiably say, "That's not music." Saxophone (tortured). Cornputer (despised). I read a lot and walk around cities and reservedly like a few bougie things. https://bhobrainey.com https://bhobrainey.bandcamp.com

Speculating, but I'm guessing that a lot of politicians are buying into the idea that AI is about to fundamentally change everything, and they want early access to the winning side. IMO, it might change things bigly, but not until the current bs burns down the market. Not in the next four years.

If you're, say, interested in Sam Shepard's final play, A Particle of Dread (Oedipus Variations), translated to Turkish, and expect to be in Ankara sometime soon, you can see the National Theater perform it with music and sound design by me, starting March 27th. www.devtiyatro.gov.tr/DevletTiyatr...

See you tonight, NYC. Message Striped Light for location. www.instagram.com/striped_ligh...

Also, VSCode is free. Could've meant Visual Studio, which would further demonstrate the general sloppiness and ignorance of these objectivist meth heads.

I am pleased to report that the new Reacher season is satisfyingly Reacher-y but also mentions the Ethel Merman Disco Album, an album I found in the trash in Miami in 1994 and gave to Jeff Babko, currently of Jimmy Kimmel band and Martin & Short live show and general LA stuff fame, multiple times.

On Reverb, but DM me if we're budz and you want some of these resistors reverb.com/shop/roberts...

I am most pleased with the results.

I'll be performing with it tomorrow at Studio 34 in Philly with JungWoong Kim and Germaine Ingram. It'll be hard to resist just absolutely shredding the whole time.

I'm gonna put some audio / electronics gear on Reverb / eBay soon, but I *could* offer a better deal if you work with me directly. A small thread with images.

Can't wait for my upcoming shows

I've watched this video maybe 20 times in the last day

Help a brother out, get gear in return.

Without Mel Brooks hiring Lynch to make THE ELEPHANT MAN — on the strength of ERASERHEAD alone — he is very likely just a guy who made a weird film at AFI. That whole filmography you love doesn’t happen. We all need sponsors and mentors and patrons. We need people who believe in us.

Got the saxophone back this morning, and the intuition checks out - guy's a genius.

Been in the middle of re-watching Twin Peaks: The Return. Recently read a Jameson essay on Mahler, been seeing parallels in TP ("affect" vs emotion, genres but in quotes, pull and resistance of narrative, etc). It's all so good, so singular, unmatched. Many years of unnerving joy. RIP

I'm pretty sure I found the best saxophone repairman because upon meeting he unleashed a torrent of unsolicited criticisms of my instrument, talked about how disgusting most of his customers were, then took a call on speaker with a woman telling him her husband died the night before.

Went to the Art Book Club at the Philadelphia Free Library yesterday. Not really a book club, but awesome. Librarian selects a bunch of books, many quite rare and olde, around a theme and sets them on a table. You shuffle around the table, and she tells you stuff. All thumbs up.

Q1 2025 looks to be saxophone heavy for me, starting tomorrow with this relatively new poetry / music series at this cool space in Fishtown.

This is my favorite recorded extremely diatonic solo that I've done, I think. Simple and concise is hard.

To help fund our upcoming release projects (many exciting projects on the way from both elsewhere and Erstwhile) and to clear some much-needed storage space, we are offering free shipping on all orders over $50 (domestic shipping in the US) and $140 (international shipping) through February 9th.

I wrote about why Mark Zuckerberg is spectacularly evil in a three-part series here - based in part on my experiences reporting in Myanmar in the early 2010s. little-flying-robots.ghost.io/facebook-des...
