The label Conservative doesn't seem to fit anything in contemporary American politics these days. Back when it did this is what it meant to me personally. A) Above Everything, the Constitution and the rule of law. B) Natural Rights, Freedom, Liberty, Self-Determinism. 1/

" I have gained the whole world" they thought " There can't be any possible repercussions for this"

One thing I wish people understood about authoritarianism is life often looks more or less the same. Troops aren’t marching down the street every day; people go to restaurants, have their office jobs. But everyone knows that stepping out of line, even slightly, can derail your life with no recourse

👇 Yep!

NASA is something every American can be and should be proud of. And for every dollar spent on it, it returns more on that investment to the economy. Example: Their 2023 budget was $25B, and they added over $75B to the economy that year. This is a horrible decision.

The White House. The actual White House. This is the attitude of every abuser, who is now fearful of the consequences of their abuse.

Repeat after me It isn’t a tariff on China It is a 104% regressive sales tax on most of the shit you buy Republicans have passed the largest tax increase in history on working and middle class Americans while preparing to cut taxes for their billionaire donors The grift never ends with them

Do you feel it? Do you feel the momentum shift? The will of the people is strong. And we all know the only way out is through & the only way through, is together. Resist. Persist. Standup. Speak out. Fight. We can do this. We WILL do this. We ARE doing it. And we will not stop.

This articulates what so many of us feel. What I struggle with is “why do so many fall for it?” I have my opinions, but at the end of the day they all are very discouraging…

Republicans went nuts and accused Biden of tyranny when he tried to cancel student debt. Right now, their guy just imposed the biggest tax rise on Americans in modern history by fiat, unilaterally, with no congressional or judicial approval.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A “TRADE DEFICIT”—IT’S JUST CALLED “BUYING THINGS.” YOU DO NOT HAVE A TRADE DEFICIT WITH YOUR DENTIST JUST BECAUSE HE NEVER BUYS ANYTHING FROM YOU.

I'm 18. The economy enters a once-in-a-century recession. A Republican president is responsible. I'm 29. There is once-in-a-century pandemic that leads to a once-in-century-recession. A Republican is responsible. I'm 35. Tarriffs trigger a once-in-a-century recession. A Republican is responsible.

The GOP credo

The fact that so many people don’t know the difference between entomology and etymology bugs me in a way I can’t put into words.

a lot of definitions for evil, but I think a prevailing one should be when you’re granted power to do an endless amount of good in the world and choose to do quite literally the exact opposite.

I stand with Ukraine. Slava Ukraini

Be a Zelensky in a world of Trumps.

Donald Trump is a piece of shit.

“Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" What has made us great.
