My hot tip for new indies is: It's much easier to make people care with a hook / joke / uniqueness than by making something very good. Gamer literacy and expectations are the highest they've ever been, so if your pitch is 'great game but better' that will be a harder, more expensive road.

one thing I've come to appreciate with photography is just how much something as simple as cropping can determine the narrative direction of an image I think I imagine my photos as stills from a movie, and so I ask myself, what story is being told? see the alt text on each image for my thoughts!

TIL it turns out you CAN check for a type dynamically in Godot 4 by using is_instance_of(). That's a big deal, making GDscript's type system way more usable! You don't need magic String almost at all anymore. After doing a game in Godot 3 for 5 years, I might have had a tear of joy seeing this 🥲
