Note to self: when playing Pokémon decks from the original sets against your children’s Scarlet & Violet decks, you WILL get owned. First game was a mercy killing. I won the second, but only because they purposely decided to use ALL of their other Pokémon first. Quality times IMO. 🤗

i think the new commander bracket system is neat, and the 40 cards on the game changer list are basically the cards you'd get if you asked any 20 random commander players to name the most bullshit cards in the format. (though i'd add toxrill and koma as well).

I’ve learned one unintended consequence of playing Magic: You get really good / fast at learning other games. Splendor, Codenames, Bang, Catan, Carcassone, Exploding Kittens, Trogdor. They just say “it’s like combat in Magic” and it instantly locks in.
