Someone needs to make an updated version of The Manchurian Candidate, but instead of the title character getting kidnapped and brainwashed, he is manipulated by foreign interests with threats of blackmail and promises of wealth and fame.

The nice lady on the phone said that the federal grants that fund their programs are currently on hold, and they don’t know if they will have any more money to put towards helping folks. She was even concerned about her job, as it is funded by one of those grants.
