I only got an iPad last May as my first iOS device and even as a Mac user for the last 18 years who "got" why Apple designs their software that way,i was shocked by how rudimentary it was. And that as I understand it was a relatively recent addition to the OS

I haven't!though I've shown an interest and basically been told not to come by elders who stayed but for vague reasons which I honestly put down to them losing the status the colonial period gave. But it's a very nuanced part of my families history and I always try and consider in historical context

My family are also East African Asians and it really is a tricky thing to comprehend especially growing up in the UK where the privilege doesn't exist it's hard to comprehend and truly appreciate.

Yeah thatd absolutely work! My fam is Punjabi and I'd say the material (typically embroidered) wouldn't change that'd be to your taste but the big thing would just be to avoid red which you've already been advised to do. Only other thing I'd say is that turnaround time varies so earlier the better

Look into Saris or Salwar Kameez. If you have a local area with Indian shops they'll often let you pick a fabric and have it made to measure, but online offerings exist too. Best to go with someone who knows what they're doing irl though because there can be a lot of haggling!

I find Atmos mixes a LOT quieter and apple TV seems to have that a lot. I put that down to more mix dynamics but I do have to turn up apple TV and Netflix content whenever theres atmos to values that would shake the room in any other format

Yeah this is the issue and then it extends into offering more fine control via sliders. Years of visual focused marketing for games makes players way more aware of the minutae of graphical settings in a way that just isn't the case for audio. If anything audio got more and more simplified for users

Dynamic range control and "night mode" goes a long way. Adding more sliders can be good but can be a UX nightmare depending on the audience and how in depth they'll be willing to get on average
