City of London 😳

I did enjoy King Charles sending some discreet shots over Trump’s bows. With all due pomp and ceremony and shouts of God Save the King. Touché 🇨🇦

Can someone please help with identification of these three cuties? Are they varietals of the common garden snail or something else? Found in north west London. Cheers 🐌🐛 #invertebrates

Talk about buildings looming over the place. Apparently some of the more unusual silhouettes are to avoid impinging on view shafts to St Paul’s Cathedral. It’s all ver War of the Worlds when you’re on the ground though.

A bit of TLC for the old whare. Plus letting the sun shine in. Looks like we are staying till the end of July now. 😊

Eating lunch in the back yard at East Finchley. 😊

Just paid £79 to get a script filled at the pharmacy in London 😱

Picnic with the young ones at KornerPark in Neukolln, Berlin. The entire park was jam packed with big groups of, mostly, young apartment dwellers with their friends, babies, dogs and beers. Delightful.

WW2 fall of Berlin bullet holes. These are on the wall of what is now a Jewish kindergarten. The inner city is full of them.

It was a public holiday today to commemorate the end of WW2 in Europe & the defeat of the Na&i regime. Berlin had an aura of solemnity. It was a public holiday but the streets were deserted, no parades, no tolling of bells. How do you come to terms with doing the worst ever yet still learn from it?

There’s more Black style, more cultural expression and more dandyism here than the whole dull Met Gala put together.

Arrived in Berlin late last night and spent the day ambling and busing around. Every municipal and government building flies five flags: Germany, the local state flag, the EU flag, Ukraine and the flag of Israel. It’s way beyond jarring as you traverse the capital city of Europe’s largest economy.

A surprisingly affordable and very delicious picnic lunch in Hyde Park under the flowering chestnut trees. Food from Harrods food hall. Then on to the museum of natural history.

Our awesome local art deco movie theatre plus lunch at the Garden Museum by Lambeth Palace. Spring light here is drop dead gorgeous at 51 degrees North.

Two literary graves. Douglas Adams, with offerings from his fans. And Jim Horn, someone’s beloved partner who shared his love of books. 📚

We went to Highgate Cemetery today, in part to pay respects to Karl Marx and his giant head. There are a number of others who chose to be memorialised close to him, so there is a veritable socialists’ corner.
