Ofsted has failed to take seriously the enormous concerns of the profession. It is a discredited organisation with its name continually in the mud. It is incapable of introspection or change – time to #AbolishOfsted and replace it with a new system that is supportive, effective and far.

This .. all this ... just diabolical how dare they a "new and improved" system! .. not fit for purpose

Not sure how I missed knowing this for so long! If you want to link to just one part of a phet simulation then add ?screens=1 or ?screens=2 or ?screens=2,3 to the end of the URL e.g. phet.colorado.edu/sims/html/en... Keep students on task more easily #ITeachPhysics #SciTeachUK

Good morning science teachers! I've made lots of free teaching resources in the past which many of you have used. For a short time, I'm giving away Kindle editions of my book "Why Don't Things Fall Up?" If you'd like a copy, just let me know and I'll send you a link! alomshaha.com/portfolio/wh...

It's actually feeling quite chummy and fun over here now! Thanks to @principalstewj.bsky.social for this! www.zdnet.com/article/how-...

Hi everyone, just wondering... Are you a teacher, who fancies writing something (ficton or non-fiction), but don't know where to begin? Or do you already write a little, but would like to be paid for it? I've created teacherwriters.bsky.social for just that. Please spread the word! 😊 #UKEd

👋🏼 Nice to see the #EduSky community growing on here, I'm trying to rebuild my network from Twitter so thought I'd share an introduction. I work at U Can Too delivering STEM workshops in schools like these - ucantoo.org.uk/talking-tech 💻🤖🛡️ I generally post about computing education, robots and DnD.

If you've recently changed you job and felt tired, frustrated, worried or all 3, it's worth taking a moment to remind yourself of what Christian says here. Automaticity is something we often take for granted, and is especially important in a complex job.

My latest cartoon for New Scientist

Been thinking about Pupil Premium recently. The obsession with closing the gap has led to some pretty bizarre practices in schools; the insistence it is a performance measure. Maybe we think about it the wrong way round. Maybe we should consider what the gap might be if we didn't have the funding.

If you are a teacher in menopause, know that those not going through it won’t understand things like auto immune diseases makes it difficult. So So stay on top of 1. Supplements. 2. Take breaks 3. Sleep 4. Nap after school if need 5. Exercise 6. Know what you can influence

#edu-sky #podcast recommendation. This is super useful, and super well organised - I love how the information. Is presented. I'm listening to The (Un)official Teacher's Manual | 5 Tips for Supporting Students With ADHD - Casey Bailey on Podbean, check it out! www.podbean.com/ea/dir-wzynh...

I think it's quite important we are as active as we can be here. I really think twitter is dead now and if we don't have a place to talk then we're in danger of losing some useful networks and conversations.

My view on #Edusky 🎓is that if we really want this community to function well, we need to lay off the like button. Hit Repost or quote post to raise the voices of others, but most of all reply - get involved. Even if its only to say you agree, or like the sound of it.

It's #NationalBeachDay! Do you love the smell of the sea? 🌊 For the large part, what you're enjoying is the smell of algal decay with notes of seaweed sex. You're welcome! More in this graphic and @chronicleflask.katday.com's accompanying thread in the replies #ChemSky wp.me/p4aPLT-nf
