It's nice how just spending an hour in the garden - putting up a couple of bird boxes and doing a bit of replanting and light pruning - can really make you feel better in general. I'm a great believer in getting my hands into the soil without gloves.

It's nice when there's a twice monthly folk session 100yds from my house, and I can have a whisky or two, because I'm not driving. Just need more people to come and play - I'm the only one from our village: others come from the surrounding area, and don't always turn up.

I like these a lot.

First pilates class for 3 weeks, due to teacher's hols and hall availability. I hurt. I'll hurt more tomorrow.

The cat's not the only one capable of making biscuits.

I slather my cottage pies with parmesan, pre oven...

It's that sort of afternoon... Fire lit, bread made, coffee in hand, rugby on.
