Alexis Diaz made another appearance and despite it being scoreless, it wasn’t all smooth as it gets to be roster crunch time. www.mlb.com/reds/news/al...

The latest on Spencer Steer, who believes he can still open the season as the Reds' DH after hitting and throwing this week. www.mlb.com/reds/news/sp...

Reds have reassigned LHP Joe La Sorsa to Minor League camp. He had a strong spring but club couldn’t carry four lefty relievers.

Two spots in the Reds bullpen appear to still be open. Ashcraft is in consideration for one of them. Could Diaz wind up an odd man out? www.mlb.com/reds/news/al...

Congratulations to Marty Brennaman. The former Reds radio icon will be getting a statue of his likeness outside of GABP. The club scheduled the unveiling for Sept. 6. It will be created by local artist Tom Tsuchiya and placed near the Reds front office building facing Joe Nuxhall Way.

Spiers named the Reds fifth starter while Abbott will open the season on the IL. Details here: www.mlb.com/reds/news/ca...

Trevino already under contract for this season after avoiding arbitration on Jan. 9 with a $3.425 million deal.

Confirmed Trevino extension via a source. $5.25 million for 2026 $5.25 million for 2027 $6.5 million club option for 2028 ($1 million buyout)

Important to note that Abbott didn't have a setback. Club just decided there wasn't enough time left and didn't want to be shorthanded on the roster in case something happened. Spiers will start the fifth game of the season, which will give Opening Day starter Hunter Greene an extra day of rest.

Francona announced that Carson Spiers will be the Reds fifth starter when camp breaks. Andrew Abbott going on the IL. Ashcraft will be moving into a relief role.

Reds roster move: RHP Lyon Richardson optioned to Triple-A Louisville.

Alexis Diaz’s pitching line from Tuesday’s Minor League game: 1 ip 2 K 2 BB

With a few days left in Reds camp, here are some kudos and concerns for the club heading into the season. www.mlb.com/reds/news/ta...

It went by really fast, but Wade Miley enjoyed facing hitters -- even in a live BP on a Reds complex field -- for the first time in nearly a year. “I can’t even explain how much fun that was," Miley said. www.mlb.com/reds/news/wa...

Wade Miley is throwing live BP to hitters right now. First time doing that this spring.

Reds notebook: Abbott’s spring debut and Spiers looks sharp in his latest outing www.mlb.com/reds/news/an...

I only just noticed this today but Reds Minor League camper Levi Jordan is wearing No. 23.

Outfielder Jacob Hurtubise, is on the Reds' roster bubble during the final week of camp, feels like he's made a good showing for the club. "I’m looking forward to this last week and just competing. I’m at peace with whatever the decision is," Hurtubise said. www.mlb.com/news/jacob-h...

Couple of Reds tidbits -- Steer to begin throwing on Tuesday. Club is still holding out hope he can avoid the IL but it's probably going to be a close call. Diaz will pitch in a Minor League game on Tuesday after his very rough outing on Saturday.

Reds Spring Breakout notebook: Stewart and O’Donnell hit big triples; Serwinowski starts and Luis Mey burns up the radar www.mlb.com/reds/news/sa...

With two strikeouts.

At Spring Breakout, Reds dugout was fired watching reliever prospect Luis Mey work in the 8th. He threw a few 101’s out there in his scoreless inning.

The day after a CT scan on his right thumb, Jose Trevino was back at it. He was given one more day out of the lineup as a precaution.

One more Reds cut: LHP Alex Young was reassigned to Minor League camp

More Francona on Steer: "I understand the timing of it and I see where we’re at. Let’s let him do his thing because he’s really getting after it. I think he deserves the respect of having every chance possible. And if it’s not the right thing, we’re not going to do it.”

Steer (right shoulder) could begin throwing as soon as Tuesday. Francona hasn't given up on him being ready for the season. “We haven’t closed it out of respect to a kid who has never been on the IL in his whole career. And he’s working his ass off," Francona said. (1/2)

There's exactly one week remaining in Reds camp. Only a few more cuts are left. Here's a look at the unsettled spots that still must be locked up... www.mlb.com/reds/news/ro...

Reds notebook: Benson and Shaw highlight latest cuts; Greene’s start and a very rough outing for Diaz. www.mlb.com/reds/news/wi...

With an injury scare behind him, Trevino is set to be the Reds regular catcher until Stephenson is ready. www.mlb.com/reds/news/jo...

CT scan on Trevino was negative for a fractured right thumb, Reds say. He is day-to-day.

Trevino before heading off for a CT scan on his thumb: “I could play today.” Will have a story coming later.

Francona said that Bryan Shaw would stay in the organization and pitch at Louisville.

Trevino seems to be doing OK today, but as a precaution is being sent today for a CT scan on his right thumb,.

Latest Reds camp cuts... OF Will Benson optioned to Triple-A Louisville; RHP's Albert Abreu, Zach Maxwell, Chase Petty, Bryan Shaw and Lenny Torres re-assigned to Minor League camp.

Updated the Reds story of the day about injuries to both of their catchers. www.mlb.com/reds/news/ty...

Reds said Trevino’s X-rays were inconclusive … will be re-evaluated in the morning.

Francona on what he heard about Trevino: “We sent him for a precautionary x-ray. They did say by the time he left the ballpark, he was feeling better though. The swelling had already gone down. We’ll certainly hold our breath here a little bit but I think we should know something pretty soon.”

Over at the other Reds game at Diamondbacks - @stevegilbertmlb.bsky.social says Trevino took a foul tip off his hand and exited. Will update when there's news.

Stephenson on his oblique injury: "I’m kind of glad I stopped when I did. But I feel good. I’m not in a bunch of pain. I’m definitely optimistic. It sucks that I maybe will miss the first few weeks." www.mlb.com/reds/news/ty...

First version of the story on Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson, who will likely miss Opening Day with an oblique strain. www.mlb.com/reds/news/ty...

It’s a low grade left internal oblique strain for Stephenson. Unlikely to be ready for Opening Day, acknowledged Francona.

Reds notebook: Francona’s options for third base; Lodolo’s day and more www.mlb.com/news/gavin-l...

Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson is being sent today for an MRI on his back, Francona said, to make sure nothing serious is going on

Reminder that today's Reds game is an hour earlier than originally scheduled.

Because of rain in the Thursday forecast, tomorrow’s Reds game vs. the A’s was moved up one hour. Now starting at 3 pm ET/12 pm AZ time.

It was a solid first game for Andrew Abbott vs Triple-A hitters, as he worked two scoreless innings. www.mlb.com/reds/news/an...

Reds notebook: Steer has started swinging the bat again as he works back from his right shoulder issue. www.mlb.com/reds/news/sp...

Rule 5 pick IF/OF Cooper Bowman was sent back to the A’s by the Reds.
