Y’all! On TikTok Chinese manufacturers are blowing the lid off luxury brands such as Hermes, pottery Barn and others. They’re giving the actual costs of making items and providing websites so you can buy directly from them. Congratulations, MAGA, your boy is hurting brands worldwide! Way to go!

Is anyone else watching this? It's incredible. I fear for the luxury market. Oh trumpy and vancey boy... What have you done

At least someone is saying out loud. Serious rethink and realignment needed.

For Americans who didn’t get the joy of living through the Truss/Kwarteng budget, this is the point where the government starts to call the stock market left-wing and/or woke.

Forgot I was on a phone call about council tax Them: What band are you in Me: Erm, The Charlatans Them: Your council tax band? 😬

This is crazy!

Wow... What is happening!

Just sickening abuse, day in, day out. Israel is becoming a lawless pariah state Oscar-winning Palestinian director attacked by Israeli settlers and arrested www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

Francesca Albanese: Israel, Gaza, and the United Nations (LEADING) Rory and Alastair are joined by United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories to discuss: 🇮🇹Why the Mafia inspired her to become a lawyer 🇮🇱Why she thinks Netanyahu is breaking the law in the war in Gaza

A government so preoccupied with why it won that it hasn't thought at all about why Sunak lost:

2000+Jewish professors, staff, students letter on Mahmoud Khalil's arrest: "We hold various views…But we are united in denouncing anyone who invokes our name and cynical claims of antisemitism to harass, expel, arrest, or deport members of our campus communities." docs.google.com/document/u/1...

I take two big things from this: 1) Lockdowns etc really were not cost-free & future pandemic planning should take this into account. 2) We have to find a way to give people more (positive) social and community interactions. Isolation must be a factor in worsening mental health.

Our latest @nao.org.uk report finds the UK industrial strategy push is held back by poor Whitehall co-ordination. Especially the interface of DBT and DFE on skills on.ft.com/4bLxAmL (Full report: www.nao.org.uk/reports/supp...)

Over the course of a week, the UK debate has completely changed. Just days ago, the right was still trying to use Trump to humiliate Starmer. Now, after the Zelenskyy meeting & Vance's nonsense, there's a consensus against the US administration. British Trump supporters utterly marginalised.

How do we respond to these times of global disorder? We are offering £2,500 for discussion papers of around 4,000 words on this topical theme. Deadline for proposals: 14th April. Please pass on to interested networks www.thebritishacademy.ac.uk/internationa...

Me, the first five days after payday every month:

Trade policy, like constitutional law, should be boring.

So tariffs delayed huh... Oh and lots of people made a killing shorting the markets. Nothing fishy here

There’s a lot going on but we shouldn’t overlook the potential for this to hit lower and middle income countries, particularly if access to dollar liquidity becomes less freely available. www.ft.com/content/33ff...
