The @tampabaytimes.bsky.social and @poynterinstitute.bsky.social own this. They couldn't - they wouldn't - make a choice between the two candidates. Now they fill their dying paper (published two days a week) with fluff about the local restaurant scene. Hard to keep language SFW about these creeps.

Just read this graf. Share it with people you know who don’t pay attention to politics or news.

Bezos is less flamboyant than Musk but now is rivaling him (and Zuckerberg) in social destruction. At least the "new-tech" plutocrats of the original Gilded Age eventually put some/much of their wealth to positive use. (Eg Carnegie, Rockefeller, Vanderbilt, Mellon. even Morgan.)

This is the result of pure evil and hatred. No country of decent people accepts people being treated this way.

Hochul is a Democrat. Republicans aren't the only ones who have members trying to censor education and control what universities are allowed to teach and whose humanity is worth learning about, sadly.

The US fell to its enemies without a shot being fired. The only occasional solace is that we can laugh to the end at the stupidest academic of all time, the charlatan Francis Fukuyama, every university that educated him and employed him, and every media pundit who puffed his nonsense.

The agenda isn't even hidden. Opinion manipulation by survey.

The USA is already a dictatorship ruled through terror.

In #Florida for my mother-in-law's funeral. A cultural desert where opera's only role is to be played at high volume by convenience stores to deter the congregation of youth.

This is where we are now: An elementary school at Fort Campbell has removed all books from its library that so much as *allude* to slavery or the civil rights movement. The wholesale erasure of history in real time.

So much for free speech. Let's make this cartoon by @mluckovich.bsky.social go viral. I'm married to @tealcartoons.bsky.social so I might be biased, but cartoons have long played a vital role in shaping political debate - both past and present. This type of censorship is deeply troubling.

On Friday night, HHS ordered CDC to take down all flu vaccine campaign materials from its website. Materials are starting to come down. For example, a campaign explaining that flu shot can reduce flu severity from "wild to mild" is now offline. Left image is from Friday, right is now Meanwhile...

This is a very potent image. But then think about what happened next, and what is still the situation 36 years later.

And then they came for the, erm… kids musicals. www.broadwayworld.com/article/Kenn...

@bwallarthur.bsky.social This one works too.

I don't want to get sucked into the morass of the UK immigration "debate" but since my father also arrived in the UK by a dangerous route - specifically, Nazi labour camps and the Free Polish Army - I am pretty disappointed by what the UK government are doing.

Today was one of the hardest days I’ve ever had saving dogs. Someone poisoned 10 of the street dogs I feed. It started last night… (1/10)

1. Here are just a few of the ways in which Starmer’s Labour Party seems determined to alienate its voters and lose the next election. As they pile up, you have to keep pinching yourself and asking, “what the hell is it playing at?” 🧵

Take a moment off from your appeasing Trump and distracting with the latest local restaurant news, @tampabaytimes.bsky.social, to learn how to spell. Fact-check *that*, @politifact.bsky.social. Train those pathetic hacks better, @poynterinstitute.bsky.social.

In Oxford tonight? Come to the Holywell Music Room at 8pm to hear this fantastic programme of incredibly varied choral music, from the Renaissance to today. Love in many different guises depicted.

A high-ranking state department nominee for Trump. This is all out in the open and they don’t care. Can the Serious News People start referring to this as a white supremacist administration yet?

We are in the middle of the most profound crisis of American government since the civil war and our idiotic political media can barely see it. Control of the US has been handed to a totally unelected oligarch whose politics are defined by close association with neo-Nazis and conspiracy theorists

New — The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) was told this week by DOJ that they'd lose their funding if the org didn't remove any mentions of LGBTQIA+ issues from their public materials, I've learned. Staff were told they need to deadname trans kids in their reports to comply.

It’s white supremacy, simple as that.
