I may be a literature teacher, but I am equally an advocate for queer and trans kids. I view their safety and their ability to thrive as a mission in life. i'm never going to get over just how much i needed conversations like this connected to the world around me, as a kid, when what i got was a bunch of isolated nonsense word problems and scantrons in a vacuum. it didn't need to be complex; it didn't need to be "academic." it needed to be relevant.

The Most Dangerous Game was in at least three separate years of my schooling and i don't believe a single one of those teachers mentioned (or noticed?) the play on words because it was a game for the hunter but also game is the one being hunted i learned it from an improvised musical podcast.
