We’re still feeling the aftershocks of failing to properly punish and make examples of members of the Confederacy during The Reconstruction.

Good to see that the Senate - as usual - really has their finger on the pulse of what’s happening. It’s like they only read the news 90 days after it’s printed.

I was going to suggest this quite emphatically a while back until I was kindly informed that not only is it illegal to incite or suggest, but it’s one of the few items of speech not protected by the First Amendment. Dodged a bullet.

You left out the rather sticky end that the majority of fascist dictators have encountered. And Trump is neither a King, nor a President, so…

What, you need a leader to show you the way? My plan *on BlueSky* is to wake people up, first and foremost, to the reality of where we are. But hey, if you think calling your Congressman is going to help, go for it. You’ll still be on hold as they frog march you onto a plane to El Salvador.

Overthrow Congress? Of course not. And why would that be necessary? They’ve already rendered themselves irrelevant as a body, with the exception of a few standout members. My fears are much more dystopian. We are just a step away from political opposition being banned outright.

North Dakota!

I have never said “let’s do nothing”. In fact, had you taken the time to check my account before posting a dismissive response, you’d see the opposite. I am merely saying that those people stuck in the idea that somehow Congress will save us are frogs in boiling water. It’s going to be up to us.

I don’t believe that we’ll have midterms. By then we’ll have a permanent state of emergency, martial law, suspension of elections, and opposition will be labeled “terrorist” and banned.

I just saw that. This is excellent.

It was. Right up until January 20, 2025.

Congress is not in session. Which of our elected Dems will fly to El Salvador and demand - in the name of the US Govt - the immediate release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia? If you need help with travel plans, I can show you how to use Expedia. Make them try to stop you.

The Dems can’t even vote as a caucus on something so vile as the SAVE act or HR 7511. With Jeffries and Clark as leaders? Clark couldn’t whip the dust out of a rug, never mind the entire caucus. We are beyond Congress at this point. No one in DC is coming to save you.

And there are still people - even on BlueSky - urging you to “Call your Congressman!” Frogs in boiling water, the lot of them.

Some of us have seen it long before it began to happen. It’s the people in denial that still think that this can be solved through some miraculous act of Congress - or that somehow the mid-terms will change everything. As if there will even be mid-terms. Opposition is a step from being banned.

How much were they paid? Or did you just offer leftover canapes to New York’s homeless to attend?

Still trying to find anything happening in North Dakota. We had great support in Minot on the 5th, would love to keep the momentum going and grow it. Nothing on indivisible, nothing on 50501, nothing on novoiceunheard. Living in a tiny red rural community with zero information.

Super helpful. Thanks for that.

It’s as if none of them know any history. And I’m not talking Doctorate level, it’s like they never even saw two hours on History Channel. We’re watching a lack of courage on a level that makes Neville Chamberlain seem heroic. We’re time-traveling back to 1933 with better knowledge, but no will!

This is so effing depressing. The man has served his country for decades. And even after successfully holding the highest office in the land, he still can’t rest.

This has been the problem with the Dems since before the election. You know that I have been screaming about this stuff for weeks, while so many folks were still in denial, thinking this was just politics as usual. The Dem party are *still there*. I just don’t know what it’s going to effing take.

People will only really rise up against this in number when the disappearances of white people begin. And it’s coming to a town near you soon.

In November 1978, Rep. Leo Ryan went against the wishes of the President and flew to Guyana to investigate Jonestown and rescue Americans. He died a frickin’ hero.

As long as Miller continues to drive forward an anti-equality agenda and the administration continues its march toward complete white male supremacy, they’ll have political cover for their economic plan to destroy the economy with little resistance from the extreme right. MAGA will suffer it gladly.

Credentials don’t seem to be a problem for this administration. Since he already fired the doctor that saved his corpulent ass from COVID, his new doctor probably just shoved some Ivermectin down his throat, said a fervent prayer to white, gun-toting Jesus, and handed him a miracle asthma Inhaler.
