This is the V-shaped passage grave at the end of the alignments of Kermario in Carnac (Morbihan) before its restoration in the 1920s. It was issued by a publisher called Nogues who had a tabac in Carnac. #TombTuesday.

Ronald Clucas has discovered a fragment of a gold arm-ring which belonged to a Viking, who lived on the Isle of Man around one thousand years ago. manxnationalheritage.im/news/manx-me...

Bought a replacement grill for the BBQ. Anyway, made in China, shipped to the US and then to the UK. Blimey. None of that’s the point though. The point is I learned there’s a place called Sugar Notch in Pennsylvania.

ME: yeah could i get the impossible burger with cheese. THE VIZIER WHO'S BEEN ADVISING ME: ahh, an excellent choice sire. an imitation of the genuine article. there are some "friends" of yours to whom it bears a passing similarity ME: you want anything VIZIER: [chuckles] what i want is of no import

I’ve been watching our kelp forests decline across my lifetime and it makes me very sad because kelp is cool as hell and supports a lot of marine life so I made a quilt about it.

Well, it's been a decade in the making but I'm almost ready to press go on my new zine, Changing Landscapes - Ruins of the North Pennines. This one is 40 pages (Transporter was 20). Here's a video flick-through of what you can expect. More details in next post. #Photography #ThePhotoHour

Lovely book cover graphics, somewhat cinematic in a 1950's fashion. Also who could resist anything written by 'Vergilus Ferm'?

Today seems like an appropriate day to repost my old Spinosaurus illustration, complete with rainbow. 🌈

The menhir known as the Gravier de Gargantua in Port-Mort (Eure) is 3.5m tall and traditionally explained as being an irritating piece of gravel which the giant removed from his clog and tossed away. #StandingStoneSunday.

We're listening to The Who Sell Out as part of our #vinylproject. Another record given to me by my boss, the inimitable Barbara Littlewood. I've never played it before so have never heard most of the tracks.

A whole mood

Plaited gold finger ring Found Greba, #IsleOfMan Dated c.1000 AD & buried for safekeeping c. 1050 AD. Part of a #Viking goldsmith's hoard, perhaps as bullion or jeweller's scrap. Now in the #ManxMuseum #Douglas #FindsFriday #Archaeology

Rachel's photos are delightful, buy yourself some cards, go on.

I used to follow Dr H on Twitter so was delighted to find she’s here and so are her biscuits!

Bloke’s come to read the water meter. I can hear him telling Ollie we’re at risk of running out of drinking water because there are ‘too many people in the country’. Fair play to Ol for saying ‘oh I heard it’s because the water companies are more interested in profit than infrastructure’. Morning!

#vinylproject We‘ve finished the singles and moved on to LPs. Now playing Abbey Road. My boss gave me her records when she retired in 1999. This is one of hers. Amazingly I don’t think I‘ve ever listened to this. (My parents had no interest in The Beatles.)

Experimenting with making folk horror Fuzzy Felt, combining shapes from vintage sets with cutting my own. Only a work in progress & a tentative first attempt but I’m enjoying working out the process & possibilities

An artist friend (Jill Jeffrey) sometimes paints my photos. Here's one of Ardban, and the original image.
