This plant was heading towards certain demise weeks ago due to neglect, which was due to life feeling like a blend of dismal chaos and anxiety. The plant withered with. But I’ve been trying to take care of our spaces, keeping a cleaner house and then the plants out front. Only this one survived.

Random bread for no other reason than to look at bread, specifically toasty bread, which, if you don’t like, then I don’t know what to say because bread, specifically toasty bread, is not only life, but art, and not only art, but life. #bread #toast #life #art

Thanks to Ben Jackson for the image and Tess Wenderski for adding this meaningful quote from Otagaki Rengetsu!

There are always opportunities to appreciate the beautiful things in this world, including a blue sky and a flock of seagulls. Hello, BlueSky community! - No Barriers Zen Www.nobarrierszen.org #zen #beauty #thismoment

I have glasses but often don’t wear them because I usually get tired of them. But today it was apparent the need when I spotted a McDonald’s ad for a “McCrappy” meal. #aintnobodywantthat

I’m seeing a lot of people frame the threat to the 504 only in terms of affecting education and kids with IEPs. It affects EVERYONE. From curb cuts to access to government buildings to sign language interpreters in disasters to accessible medical facilities, it is a civil rights threat to ALL.

This would impact Deaf and Hard of Hearing kids, too. Imagine not getting accommodations for education. It’s already challenging enough with the laws in place. Take those away and I don’t want to think about how bad the impact would be for generations of the Deaf Community. #keep504 #deafrights

Kendrick Lamar showed more courage in the face of rising American tyranny than we’ve seen from ANY former American leader. If you swore an oath to protect this nation, where are you now? youtube.com/shorts/keNw6...

It’s not that difficult to choose a kind act over an oppressive one. You just have to be more interested in the inherent value of humanity over the perceived values of power and wealth. And, well, for those who want power and wealth, there’s nothing stopping you from using those toward kind acts.

Quote for #today.

2024 - Supreme Court decided (constitution.congress.gov/browse/essay... ) former presidents are entitled to absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for actions within the exclusive sphere of their constitutional authority while in office. Getting Musk/Doge to break laws doesn’t fit the sphere.

Trump is taking over the Kennedy Center board, appointing himself as chair. No president has ever done this. The last time the arts were forced to align with government messaging? WWII Germany. This is a power grab, not culture. Speak out. #HandsOffTheArts thehill.com/blogs/in-the...

Well written article from Vox worth reading: “Foreign aid and immigration are not the reasons why some US citizens aren’t well provided for, and pretending otherwise is a distraction from government-enabled wealth inequality…” www.vox.com/future-perfe...

A must watch.

Commodore 64 game from back in the day, “Mindshadow” by Interplay. How many hours did we spend on this one @summerchilde.bsky.social ? Another life… #nostalgia

Although this “curse” is falsely attributed to the Chinese, and is an American saying in actuality, I am reminded of it today: “May you live in interesting times.” Yes, we are indeed living in times too interesting for my taste. #china #fusion #reactor while the US falls apart.

I get wrapped up in my own thoughts. It’s puzzling because I am more interested in what others think. Yet I have low tolerance for racist, hateful, bigoted speech. Some thoughts are better left in darkness, perhaps. As Buddha said: we are what we think, all that we are arises with our thoughts…

I can’t imagine that the entire world will just let the US take over and own Gaza, leveling it, permanently displacing the Palestinians, and rebuilding something for someone else to live in. Congress needs to stop this before it’s too late. #gaza

I want to add: #convenience is not a good reason to sacrifice quality of taste. #habit is not a good reason to assume the best deals are from the big companies. #comfortofthefamiliar is a trap sometimes, depriving you of new possibilities. #shoppinglocal is resistance against billionaires’ power.
