I went to an international elementary school, where the schools motto was “friends around the world”. Those kids made me feel seen and I was a part of a community that helped my family grow so much. I hope Harvard kicks the Trump administration in the balls (legally but also like maybe IRL).

My gym has a program where the middle and high schoolers get free memberships and after school they can go into the weights area. They have extra staff to help with supervision and honestly it’s great, we need more third spaces for everyone and especially positive third spaces for teens!

My moms family came to this country in the 1600’s but my dads adoptive parents came from Sicily in the 60’s. Family history project has revealed its first gem! My grandpa refused to tell people his birthday, but thanks to birth records I was able to find out when he was born and that he was born in Summersville, Missouri. I also maybe found the address of the house he grew up in!

Today is the birthday of one of my best friends. From twelve years old her birthday and my birthday were inextricably linked, celebrated together. “We” turned 13, 14, 15. For the past ten years I’ve gotten older but she hasn’t. Growing up is a gift not everyone gets.
