There should be a Cambridge book series which gets its titles from Philomena Cunk Questions.

Turkish "family year" started with drafting anti-queer bill, which included the phrase "behaviours contrary to the biological sex at birth and public morality shall be sentenced to imprisonment." Apparently, they are aware that "biological sex" is not enough so they added the "public morality."

There is a consensus, not strictly enforced, about limiting the use of neo-Darwinism to the late nineteenth to early twentieth centuries. This means we cannot classify modern synthesis as neo-Darwinism, I am almost convinced that Modern Synthesis is a form of neo-Darwinism. #PhilBio

Crowdsource Q for #science #HPS #STS #sociology communities: For a newsletter helping science studies scholars get up to speed on what's happening to science under current admin, what would you include 1. What need to know (e.g., NSF flag words list, data backup sites/arX, etc) 2. What you can do? 🙏

I sense a gap between the philosophy of science and the philosophy of biology, and I believe there shouldn't be one. What do you think? I should probably explain what I mean by a "gap," but maybe there is no need to. #PhilSci, #PhilBio

Şöyle bir "Bilim Çalışmaları" starter pack yapmıştım. Ama sonradan güncellemedim. Listeye girmesi gerektiğini düşündüğünüz hesap varsa iletirmisniz? #BilimÇalışmaları go.bsky.app/9KgsdQe

I wrote about what Karl Popper called "conspiracy theories of ignorance": www.conspicuouscognition.com/p/on-conspir...

I continue to rant about history like a true ignorant. Does history repeat itself? It might seem like it repeats itself because generational and historical changes do not go hand in hand. As history changes very slowly, fast-moving generational change experiences different parts of the same history.

I may be wrong. Actually, I am wrong most of the time. Being correct temporarily once in a while would be okay.

My latest take on LLM-AI is that it is good at mediocrity. And we all need mediocrity most of the time unless you don't want to be super-duper, original, and perfect all the time.

Am l a Tsundoku? I had this strong urge to buy a "Complete Stories" of an author l barely read.

Watched Wittgenstein (1993) curious and watchable but not understandable. 7/10

Darwin gününüz kutlu olsun! #DarwinDay

At least there is spring ahead of us.

I have realized that history is a very "treacherous" activity, and both meanings apply. No wonder it was banned in the last days of the Ottoman Empire.

The collective mind of the most powerful country in the world, with 300 million people, is in the process of reducing to one. Soon, the pronoun "HE" will only refer to one person. The minds and futures of all people will be hostages to the whims of one. Nothing can be done without thinking of him.

Why are Australian University websites so wrong?

I watched Megalopolis: An excellent requiem for the soul of America.

At last, I have started reading Wimsatt: Too Late, Too Much, Too Hard, and extremely relevant.

Just opened an account in Pixelfed very promising. If anyone here also uses it let me know. pixelfed.social/muratgulsacan

Is this DeepSeek a good news or bad news? I mean, for the people?

3 Body Problem (TV Series) is OK but, BUT, don't agree with many things maybe books are more agreeable, probably won't read it.

Reading "Making Up People" by Hacking for a tiny bit of suggestion, in a footnote. What I gather is: Time passes nothing changes, everything changes nothing happens. Are we still in the 1970s? I wish Foucault possessed someone, preferably Žižek, and saw our end of times and comment about it.

This is a very short history of everything: They fight, and the winner is victorious, which is good, and the loser is defeated, which is also good.
