Maybe if the UK's landscape hadn't been shorn of its natural forests then utility infrastructure such as transmission lines wouldn't stand out so much

Got perfect 5G on an island off an island 200km from the nearest big city in Thailand. I have no signal in my place in London. Have to WiFi calls. We're so far behind in so many important aspects.

Many things to ponder here. Locational pricing - cheap electricity is but one part of an ideal location. Also starting an industry from scratch is hard, no matter the cash backing. www.euronews.com/business/202...

Surely you'd want to keep the batteries available in Thailand for peak periods rather than force them to run during the day when demand can be met by purely solar?

Which leaves little flexibility applications in Thailand for batteries I'd have thought, without any real reading up on the ancillary market..

Subsidy payments for renewables in Thailand are between non-firm sites being paid on metered generation apart from partially-firm solar with storage who have to generate 100% capacity on their PPA 9am to 4pm.

Since I'm in Thailand and renewable policy never sleeps I thought I'd have a quick nosey and see that they've recently increased their clean power target to 51% by 2037.

Kicking it in my Veja in Thailand on the beach as I can't walk that far in flip flops as I need my orthotics
