Hello Pascalis, very interesting but unfortunately most places don’t have species/subspecies identification. Do you have molecular methods to identify Aspergillus species?

Yeah, it seems like for this case (very specific population)of acute pulmonary cocci and immunocompetent individuals. It could be explained by so many reasons (fluc is not good anti cocci or effect is minimal to be measured). But it’s surprising to see more disseminated and hospital in fluc group.

Interesting also to see that while it is small effect, that fluc after PS matching was associated with more hospitalizations 13 (4%) fluc vs no 2 (1%), p-value=0.004.

package insert says no to using for vancomycin resistant E faecium. Maybe someone smarter than me can chip in. I still may consider it (used it before)but after talking to ID pharmacy colleagues.

CLSI m100 shows for enterococcus spp. mic of <=0.12 is sensitive, but then comment that can be reported only for E faecalis so 🤷‍♂️.

I had more troubles getting insurance covering fidaxomicin than bezlotoxumab.

Same.. I’ve used it for heme/onc and some sot patients. I never had issues with insurance covering interestingly.
