You can always tell the difference between someone who’s actually committed to social democracy and who just wants to be mad. This is the latter.

Remember when that guy said the US had no cultural exports

It’s still after all this time underrated how the No. 1 institutional GOP platform plank (tax cuts for the rich) has basically no constituency at all.

Mangione is approaching OJ status, where the cops and courts are conspiring to screw over an obviously guilty monster.

This man spits on Catholic teaching every day and should be excommunicated.

CSPAN Caller from West Virginia: I’m a diabetic and I’m on Medicare. When Biden was in there, my insulin was $6 for a 28 day supply. I just went to CVS, it went back up to $80…

Crucially, unlike when the GOP did this with eg Obama, Democrats were correct when they said it. Trump IS a unique threat to democracy as it has stood since the fall of Jim Crow.

The problem is there are actual areas where Democrats fell short (Garland’s entire tenure, not pressing for removal after J6), but no one seems to want to stick to those. So we get “Biden should have created a Gestapo to enforce Medicare for All.”

And I do believe Stancil would gladly go to prison for his posts

Matthew Tkachuk as Max Schmeling is something to think about

There was a ton of Facebook slop leading up to the election about how Biden had “abandoned North Carolina.”

One way to drive Trump’s approval down and force a confrontation would be for the pro-Palestinian protests to restart on campuses. It would be richly deserved (he’s endorsed ethnic cleansing of Gaza), but haven’t heard much about it. Only Democrats get those protests, I guess.

I’d be burning my draft card if they tried to call me up, I’ll tell you that

Counterpoint: 95% of Americans have no idea this is happening and a huge majority would massively disapprove of it if they did.

Is it good when you’re saying this a month into your party’s administration when that administration took over with a good economy.

Every Democrat who does an interview from now until the end of time needs to end the segment with a reminder that Trump called himself a king.

If Hochul is doing this it’s a sign that the time of Democrats’ pollsters telling them to be talking about bipartisanship and areas of mutual agreement are well and truly over. Could say this is the end of Trump 2’s honeymoon period.

We’re so far beyond this now, but if a Democratic administration had proposed this it would’ve been engulfed in an immediate firestorm that would’ve ground everything else to a halt.

I guess I’d be doing this too if I’d quite obviously backed the wrong horse but wasn’t ready to admit it.

This is the quickest I’ve seen one of these suits filed after the inciting incident. MTA must have had this ready to go, which, good for them for seeing which way the wind was blowing.

The mayor's attorneys told the Justice Department they needed Eric Adams' case dismissed so he could ensure "the NYPD" was "complying" on Trump's immigration agenda. The NYPD is prohibited from working with the feds on civil immigration enforcement. NEW from me @rollingstone.com:

This is one of those things you go to jail for if you’re the editor. Let it happen once and it becomes the norm.

Has there ever been an administration that took office with a relatively good economy and screwed it up this badly in this short an amount of time? I mean, things went bad fast-ish for Hoover, but the seeds for that were sown long before he took office.

1) His “flock” is about 32% of the country. 2) They won’t be fine with it, they’ll look for someone to blame, and it’ll probably be Elon.

Democrats need to be vetting guys like this to be spokespeople for the party over the next 2 years. That process needs to be happening now.

In fairness, AOC always has them sputtering mad. Jeffries isn’t on that level of right-wing infamy (yet, wait until he becomes speaker).

Actually seems like a pretty low-level demand considering the US has been flirting with leaving NATO entirely. Even the Russians can’t believe how much Trump/Elon want to blow this whole thing up.

The “red tape” mentioned here is the bedrock of the Constitution. A bank robber doesn’t “cut through red tape” to get rich when he sticks up the teller.

Remember the beer summit?

I’m genuinely curious: Do college basketball teams wearing special jerseys to celebrate Black History Month run afoul of these supposed rules? Because several of them did that this week.
