Mage: The Ascension's consensus reality sounds like a neat idea until you have to answer why it only affects some parts of the world but not others. If magic is difficult because people don’t believe in it, why doesn’t the weight of belief make the 10% of your brain myth a reality?

Every name a character uses adds to the cognitive load readers have to deal with. This applies to complex fantasy naming schemes of course, but it also applies to practices your readers are more familiar with, like the Anglophone tradition of a first name and a last name. 1/6
