Pause a while, and read some poetry... R.S. Thomas

My edition of Llyfr Gwyn Rhydderch (The White Book of Rhydderch) has a red cover while my edition of the Brutiau in the Red Book of Hergest has a blue cover! #booksky (I've used someone else's photo as it's a little too complicated for me to upload my own).

Today's book from my personal collection.

I don't think anyone could say that the Mabinogion etc is part of everyday culture in contemporary Wales, but it's certainly part of the arts culture.

This is on at Chapter in Cardiff on Tuesday: 'Join Claire Mace for a bilingual retelling of the story of Olwen, the giant’s daughter, with hair yellower than the broom and cheeks pinker than the foxglove.' wegottickets.com/event/655539/

Trying again: a book from my personal library with no explanation etc

Margaret Jones's legendary edition of Y Mabinogi was published in 1984 and has influenced two to three generations of children growing up in Wales and around the world. . . We see our mythology and folk tales through Margaret's eyes. www.ticketsource.co.uk/llgcnlw/t-no...
