Podcast: Lunches, letches, and 'lectorates. Great article and insights from Sapphi's Substack.

I hope the Selwyn residents are now throwing support behind the Ngāi Tahu claim If they are serious about their water issues.

Te Atatū MP Phil Twyford has written to the charities regulator asking for Destiny Church to be struck off. "Destiny's actions were certainly oppressive, which meets the definition of wrongdoing in the law, and so they should lose their tax deductible status," he said. #destinychurch #kiwi

Great insights here from Prof Jane Kelsey and E-Tangata. The impacts of this bill would be severe for all Aotearoa NZ'ers. We only need to look at the newly elected US govt to see how this will play out. We need to educate our communities and keep calling out the real radicals.

The last post was the transcript and this is the video from RNZ.

A great speech and a direct, respectful challenge calling out the PM to show leadership and courage amid the divisive actions of the coalition partners. To date, the PM has been overseas for the TPB first reading, the hīkoi and avoided Waitangi this year. His actions speak volumes.

This is a great piece and worth the watch. The first 3 or 4 min are an interesting insight into the 'flood the zone' approach employed by the Trump administration's first weeks in office and one we've seen here in Aotearoa NZ with the current coalition govt.

Yes, thanks for the heads up @mountaintui.bsky.social

The 'veiled threat' to remove or reduce future funding for Waitangi hapū/iwi from SJ is the EXACT reason that a Fast Track Approvals group is a dangerous and potentially disastrous idea. Ironically, we have SJ to thank for this clear and undeniable example of why it won't work.

It seems the US has the same playbook as the NZ coalition govt. DOGE appears similar to the Ministry of Regulation, Public Service jobs axed, and attacks on minority and diversity groups. The money and power players in NZ aren't on full display as in the US but their influence is just as impactful.

“Why did police shelve an investigation into a teenager’s sex abuse allegations about former Act Party president Tim Jago 25 years before he was eventually convicted?”

Atlas Network makes Australian Politics News - warnings of political interference of coal-billionaire funded disinformation campaigns. Atlas Network's NZ Initiative is featured. Pretty big news. #kiwi #nzpol

A beautiful and thoughtful piece from @maxrashbrooke.bsky.social “For Pākehā, the task as I see it is to understand the wrongs that were done, then help put them right.” thespinoff.co.nz/atea/04-02-2...

I mean honestly, here’s the example of execution of this government…promise the world…deliver nothing School lunches turning up after school or not at all. Teachers and Principals buying food for students. Students going home hungry www.nzherald.co.nz/rotorua-dail...

My video / article: Our Health Isn't Your Wealth, Shane Reti & Lester Levy Last year i.e. in 2024 alone, Chris Luxon liquidated 3 of his properties - he is cashed up and ready to go for new investment opportunities. Meanwhile he's admitted talking to wealthy foreigners & investment banks.

Is Silicon Valley Building Universe 25? Came across this interesting and slightly disturbing article from Honest-Broker.com recently.

Jane Kelsey's Submission on the proposed Regulatory Standards Bill

Following on from the last post, this E-tangata piece from Melanie Nelson provides more detail and history of what the Regulatory Standards Bill looks to establish/dismantle.

Another key part of ACT's dismantling and disruption of Aoteroa NZ's democratic protections.

Want to see open corruption on display in NZ? Look no further than Chris Bishop NOTE: Winton Property Development was rejected by Kainga Ora for their plans to build in Auckland's flood plains. They also refused to consult with local authorities including Councils and airports.

For a while now, I've thought this narrative of a 'cost of living crisis' is much more a 'cost of giving' issue. This clip, part of the doco - Capitalism in the 21st Century, is a fascinating and disturbing experiment that shows the deep and perverse issues with Western ideology and individualism.

An interesting read and one that isn't too surprising based on the history of Aotearoa NZ. Neo liberal capitalists are looking to close the loop and aren't bothering to hide their intentions anymore. Credit to E-Tangata and Mountain Tui.

BHN Melanie Nelson, qualified te reo interpreter, on the "dull but dangerous" cousin to the Treaty Principles Bill, the Regulatory Standards Bill #nzpol @chewienz.bsky.social youtu.be/g-wjH9uX2Bo

Recommend Ted Gioia to follow and support. His insights across a range of topics, from Jazz to Politics to Pop Culture are always worth the read/reflection

A great clip from @patbrittenden.bsky.social and the BHN crew. I strongly recommend watching the full interview and commentary on their YT channel and sharing it far and wide. Matthew Hooton goes full send no handbrake into divisive ideologies and policies being forced on NZ'ers from the govt.

Conventional wisdom in 2024 seems to dictate that the Covid-19 response was an overreaction, but that conventional wisdom is wrong. My analysis on the Royal Commission report and the response to it: newsroom.co.nz/2024/12/03/h...

If you're interested in Aotearoa NZ and not following Mountain Tui, then you need to be.

END GAME. My article today, in which I talk about - Where are we heading, and more importantly why, and what can be done? #nzpol #Kiwi #NewZealand
