Worst. Episode. EVER.

Cognitive accessibility is important! Think about what the player *as* the character should *know*. You increase the connection between the player and the character when you don't accidentally make the player feel like an idiot for not knowing something the character knows.

@keiretrogaming.bsky.social Gload to have you on Bluesky! I've taken the liberty to add you to the Retro Handheld newsfeed :) bsky.app/profile/naot...

Since Spotify give money to Trump instead of artists I switched to Tidal, slightly better sound, x3 better revenues for artists and same subscription fees. Also you have an embedded tool to transfer your playlists from other services: tidal.com/transfer-music

A younger collegue fan of post/prog rock told me he never heard about Ghinzu so it was mandatory for me to share him this gem of an album (and take psychic damage by realizing it's 20 years old and having emotional flashbacks). So you are mandated to listen to it too now: youtu.be/WLJ40R_0YgE?...

A thought strucked my mind this morning: despite all the free speech debates, we already have too many people like the ones who took power in the USA yesterday, and far too few David Lynchs. Let's continue to celebrate David Lynch instead of talking about insecure bullies.

The future's a big place

Are you a game developer who has *feelings* about old console tech demos like Mario 128 or the rubber ducks or FFVII PS3? Think they were cool or pointless? Did they inspire you in any way? I'm writing a short piece and am inviting also short comment on it. DM me and we can talk!

A little comic about desire paths.

Post-apocalypse show pausing for the apocalypse

Fun game for games sphere folks: any time you see awful behavior, instead of sharing it, go scan the Indie Game feed or Game Development feed for something that looks cool but isn't getting much traction, and share that instead I promise it'll make ya feel better, ditto for your followers

the number of times i've had to ask devs if they were trying to reinvent the wheel or rediscover fire is crazy the instinct to spend 6 months rewriting something for marginal gains while the rest of the team can't touch any content connected to it is generally Very Bad

🥁 Announcing the Public Domain Image Archive! 🥁 We are v excited to share our new sister-project, the Public Domain Image Archive (PDIA), a curated collection of 10k+ out-of-copyright historical images, all free to explore and reuse: pdimagearchive.org @pdimagearchive

This is always kind of a bittersweet statement but yeah, it’s true: as a UX or UI Designer my job is done not when people think "Damn, that’s a good UI" (that nearly never happen and that’s OKAY), but… when my job got unnoticed 🥲

Ayé, j’ai enfin désinstallé le réseau des Enfers, je sens que j’ai déjà récupéré des points de santé mentale 💆‍♂️

I had to snip out my favourite moment from #TheGameAwards. @laratlarian.bsky.social's words echo the heart of every developer. The industry needs to listen. We just want to make cool stuff for people. #indiedev #gamedev
