How dumb was the methodology of Trump's "reciprocal" tariffs? Well, Switzerland now faces a 31% rate simply because of a late-2024 surge in US gold imports. If the new US tariff regime had been calculated using 2023 data then Swiss imports would only face an 18.7% levy. www.ft.com/content/9072...

I once read somewhere that one of the actual purposes of NATO, and US dominance of NATO, was to keep defence spending in Europe and especially in Germany artificially down. I think that makes sense. A rearmed Europe with its political fragmentation is not a great prospect for the future.

My personal experience with LLMs is so and so. They are useful to get basic infos about a topic and sometimes even deeper knowledge if the topic has certain constraints (like no numbers involved). Its also useful for rephrasing and translating. But almost as often the output is false or not useful.
