35 Watson Crescent, Edinburgh—16 flats in a tenement built along the Union Canal in 1898 for workers in the nearby foundries, breweries and rubber factories. Former residents include:

Made curry this morning for eating tonight. I’m calling it Back From Holiday And Haven’t Done Any Shopping Yet Curry.

Somerset House. The workmen were taking down the ice rink and the Christmas tree outside in the courtyard.

A trip into the Big City yesterday for a meeting with my agent. Did you know this is “kipper season” for taxi drivers? January is always quiet because people spend in December. Historically, kippers were cheap and it what cabbies could afford when their customer numbers went down in January.

In the light of Meta's latest announcements I am going to try and migrate from IG to here. I am a textile artist studying at Bradford School of Art, addressing social justice issues one stitch at a time. Currently exploring ways of subverting a traditional quilt to campaign for peace not war.

Shades of The Italian Job in Wallace and Gromit.

It has just occurred to me that I should post an IG link, because that’s where most of my images are. A picture speaks a thousand word, and all that. www.instagram.com/nataliesferg...

I have reprogrammed the TV and the router. Well. Perhaps I am over-egging the pudding a bit, but they are now working and streaming and they weren’t before so I feel like a Tech Super Heroine.

Speechless.

@helenintgarden.bsky.social I just came across Seeds of Scotland, who sell seeds particularly suitable for our somewhat quirky weather, temperature range and shorter season length. Has anyone else tried them? Maybe @helensedgwick.bsky.social? www.seedsofscotland.com

Edinburgh trams are still running, but slowly. My son is trying to get to work and it’s taken him two hours. He isn’t there yet.

Edinburgh buses cancelled. All of them.
