The hypocrisy is off the charts.

Proud to be an alum of an institution that knows not to comply in advance. And even prouder to work there.

The ripples of op-eds in local papers describing the devastating effects of cutting NIH and NSF funding for science research…my op-ed was mentioned by a Nobel Prize winner. 🤯 Thanks to Science Homecoming for starting this movement to bring awareness across the US! @sciencehomecoming.bsky.social

Either transgender Americans are important enough to warrant year after year of breathless coverage questioning their healthcare and existence, or they're so insignificant that destroying their rights is the "least consequential" action of a presidency. www.readtpa.com/p/not-exactl...

Yes. I think it was a true miss to not acknowledge what is happening in the states right now to the trans community

Navi, my snuggle buddy. #CatsOfBluesky

What an uplifting start to March. African Caribbean night at Mount Holyoke College. My cheeks hurt from grinning.

Happy #caturday. It’s been A. WEEK. As evidenced by these rumpled piles of fur.

This is what the power of love does. Sweet Navidad (aka Navi), found on the street alone with a raging double eye infection in PR. 🇵🇷 She was rescued by the inimitable Dellymar at Santuario de Animales San Francisco de Asís. A little over a year later. 🥹 @drjacksonmatos.bsky.social #catsofbluesky

Finally. A major media outlet has finally reported on Trump’s total travel ban for transgender visa applicants seeking the United States. I had to scream for two days to get someone else to report on it. It is NOT just for athletes. www.the-independent.com/news/world/a...

Navi and her perfect marble-like cheekies are NOT having this cabinet meeting. Sees right through this crap, even with her damaged eye. #WhiskerWednesday

💯. Also, if you haven’t yet watched Fellow Travelers, here is your sign. (It is SO well done)

This is a full purge of every single LGBTQ employee at the NSA. Rufo is falsely mischaracterizing a LGBTQ employee resource group as a "sex chat" to create pretext to fire every single member in it. This is a playbook they will run to purge the entire federal government.

It has begun: my department was in negotiations with an outstanding scientist for a faculty position. That faculty candidate has now withdrawn citing political upheaval, and is strongly considering moving her career to Europe. The US is no longer the premiere destination for research scientists.

FIRED These folks and thousands, more like them are not examples of government “waste” and “fraud”. Elon Musk and Donald Trump are lying to us!

This is not ending with athletes. I want to scream about this to all the folks who assured me that my family’s travel opportunities wouldn’t be affected by Trump becoming President again.

The 5 bullet emails are going to be fed into an AI machine to determine which employees get fired? What could possibly go wrong?

Just published an opinion in my hometown newspaper about the cutting of funds to NIH and NSF, amongst other federal funding sources that are affecting so many people I respect and love, as part of @sciencehomecoming.bsky.social www.berkshireeagle.com/opinion/colu...

Rachel Maddow just cooked MSNBC live on their air and I don’t think I’ve seen something quite like that before. Incredible job, @maddow.msnbc.com.

Why is he so obsessed with surgeries? 🧐

1. Had a few seizures. 2. Took a ton of naps. 3. Punched through the snow crust on a walk with my feets and startled myself. 4. Tried to sneak my kitty sister’s food when the hoomans walked away. 5. Watched deer run by in the forest and didn’t bark at them once.

1. Tumbled out of bed. 2. Stumbled to the kitchen. 3. Poured myself a cup of ambition. 4. Yawned and stretched. 5. Tried to come to life (without actually wanting to wake up and remember what is happening in the US). #emailstoDOGE

Just finished watching Fellow Travelers. What. A. Ride. 💔

Uh, exsqueeze me. Why is dere dat canine creature in my #caturday photo shoot?

Okay this made me smile.

I love when my satos look like Pixar creatures. Boop.

Remember Project 2025? Well they have already COMPLETED 75% of their goals against LGBTQ+ people. This is all within the first month of Trump's presidency. They won't stop until they have stripped us of our rights and forced us into camps. And they won't stop with us...

We can reach people where they are. For older folks/those not on social media, I wrote a little letter for an actual printed newspaper. Spread the word. There is hope still in these dark times. #lgbtq #resist #kindness

"I think there's real risk of a generation or more of data being lost." - Dr. Michael Greicius, neurology professor at Stanford University, on the damage Trump's cuts to NIH research will do to progress on a treatment for Alzheimer's disease, adding as much as 20 years to the timeline.

They may come for us, but nothing can stop us queers from loving each other. Happy anniversary to my boo! 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈🩷

Even the most disturbing RFK Jr. headline always manages to have a detail inside creepier than you could have imagined. I’m sorry, did you just say Black kids should have a chance to get “re-parented”???? Gift link wapo.st/4hW2xGI

Springfield MA, 2/17/25. Protest against Trump and Musk.

“In a sweeping and unprecedented letter issued over the weekend, the Office for Civil Rights declared race-based scholarships, cultural centers and even graduation ceremonies illegal.” Fuck. This.

Wow.

I mean…

Western Massachusetts folks: I asked Congressman Richard Neal last week when he is planning on having a town hall to discuss what he is doing in DC to fight Trump’s actions. I just received a call from him saying he is having a phone town hall tomorrow: Thursday, Feb. 13, 6:30pm Call 888-480-3626

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The Associated Press says it was banned from covering an event in the Oval Office because it has not aligned its editorial standards with President Trump’s executive order on changing the name of Gulf of Mexico.

Autocratic breakthrough. Tonight’s episode is blowing my mind. Holy shit. @maddow.msnbc.com

So now Pride month is erased from Google calendar too. Well, you can take us out of the calendar, but you can’t erase our Pride. www.cnbc.com/amp/2025/02/...

They are going to ignore court orders. If they ignore court orders, the social contract is dead and buried, the constitution is no longer in effect. It's a rubicon that cannot be uncrossed.

I thought I’d have figured out Bluesky by now, but my feed continues to be equal parts posts from activists and photos of cats. I’m not mad about it.

Segregationists' handiwork

This is how it's done. Nazis should be scared to be out in public. Don't give them an inch.
