A fun story to put together every year… Tyler Warren, trench warfare and some curveballs: From conversations with scouts, GM, coaches and prospects, here’s how the Colts’ 2025 draft class came together one round at a time: www.indystar.com/story/sports...

About the NFL Draft prospects receiving prank calls on the biggest day of their lives... Social media has rotted some senses to where being mean online to people who can't figure out who you are counts as entertainment. Some people need to touch grass.

The Colts have built their QB room all offseason to a specific identity. They wanted to target the last addition in the draft. How Riley Leonard became the fit and what a path forward looks like for him: www.indystar.com/story/sports...

Many expected the Colts to target a starting guard in this year’s draft. Instead, they went after a tackle — and a massive one at that. How 6-8, 339-pound Jalen Travis could become the key to Indy’s offensive line as early as this season: www.indystar.com/story/sports...

Shane Steichen said that Jalen Travis' arrival could open up a lane to move Matt Goncalves inside to right guard. It's a conversation they've already started and will continue to have.

Shane Steichen is raving about Tyler Warren's versatility: "Shit, we might play him some on defense."

Seventh-round pick Hunter Wohler will play a little bit of linebacker and safety here, Chris Ballard said. Sounds like linebacker is more of the bulk, but the dime elements of Lou Anarumo's defense can open up some natural versatility.

Colts 2025 draft class: 1.14 Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State 2.13 JT Tuimoloau, EDGE, Ohio State 3.16 Justin Walley, CB, Minnesota 4.25 Jalen Travis, OT, Iowa State 5.14 DJ Giddens, RB, Kansas State 6.13 Riley Leonard, QB, Notre Dame 6.14 Tim Smith, DT, Alabama 7.16 Hunter Wohler, LB, Wisconsin

The Colts drafted Wisconsin safety Hunter Wohler with the No. 232 pick in the 7th round. That’s their first special teamer in a while and some depth at safety.

New Colts QB and former Notre Dame QB Riley Leonard: "There's no place I would rather be than back in Indiana. ... It just kind of felt like home."

The Colts drafted Alabama DT Tim Smith at No. 190 in the 6th round. A run-stuffing rotational defensive lineman, which they needed after the loss of Raekwon Davis.

The Colts have their third-string QB with Notre Dame QB Riley Leonard, pick No. 189 in the 6th round. With the hope to develop into the No. 2 for 2026.

New Colts RB DJ Giddens said he tore some ligaments in his hand early last season and it affected him mostly as a pass protector. He had surgery this spring to correct it and is confident he'll improve a ton in that area when healthy.

The Colts drafted Kansas State RB DJ Giddens in the fifth round at No. 151. He’s 212 pounds with good but not great athleticism. Ran for 1,300 yards and 6.6 yards per carry last year. Good fit as a No. 2, especially on zone-read concepts.

New Colts fourth-round draft pick Jalen Tavis said the team has talked to him mostly about playing tackle.

The Colts just drafted an offensive tackle with a higher vertical jump than their cornerback from yesterday. OT Jalen Travis posted a 35-inch vertical. CB Justin Walley hit 32 inches in his vertical.

The Colts select Iowa State OT Jalen Travis at No. 127 in the fourth round. He's 6-8 and 339 pounds. Just a massive human.

The Colts finally made their draft trade, picking up a 6th-round pick to move down 10 spots with the Rams -- 117 to 127.

JT Tuimoloau’s Ohio State career was about a top recruit leveling off as a good edge setter without a high ceiling. Then the College Football Playoff arrived, and against the draft’s best tackles, Chris Ballard saw something more. Why he was pick No. 45: www.indystar.com/story/sports...

The Colts enter Day 3 with four picks, and don’t be surprised if this is when Chris Ballard starts trading again. Here are 10 prospects to watch for: www.indystar.com/story/sports...

Chris Ballard said there wasn't a point in the first three rounds where he seriously considered drafting a quarterback. He said coming in that he was open to it early, but it doesn't sound like Shedeur Sanders was too tempting to him.

Chris Ballard on Justin Walley, who was told he could go anywhere between the 2nd and 6th rounds: "I don't care where everybody thinks he's going to go. We grade them, and we take them."

New Colts cornerback Justin Walley said the Colts like him as an inside and outside cornerback option in their defense. He's played both at the college level.

The Colts drafted Minnesota cornerback Justin Walley in the third round at No. 80 overall. NFL.com and The Athletic both have him as a 6th-round prospect. Between the profile and the position and no trade back... that's a head scratcher.

The Colts select Ohio State EDGE JT Tuimoloa at No. 45 in the second round. That's a nice get. I had him to them in my last seven-round mock draft.

Anthony Richardson called Tyler Warren to congratulate him and welcome him to Indianapolis.

New Colts first-round pick Tyler Warren.

Tyler Warren just arrived via bus at the Colts facility. We’ll get to talk to him shortly.

Why Tyler Warren became the perfect fit for the Colts ahead of Colston Loveland. Inside the tea leaves that have been leading us here for weeks: www.indystar.com/story/sports...

A quick spin on the simulator today. Marcus Mbow grades a lot better if you think of him as a guard rather than a tackle. Good fit for Indy's zone principles.

If the Colts just wanted to add the best single receiver they could fit on the field, they’d have locked in on Colston Loveland. But the fit with Tyler Warren is about so much more than that. Let’s dive in: www.indystar.com/story/sports...

Day 1 was pretty easy to telegraph for the Colts. Day 2 is going to be interesting. I'd watch for trades down, trenches and linebacker, though they could go in a bunch of different directions. Here are 10 prospects on my radar for them: www.indystar.com/story/sports...

It's amazing to think that the Colts' tight end room was led by a player with 14 catches last season. 14. They played 17 games.
