Orange Manbaby!

“Well, it sounds like that’s the direction they are headed.” — feckless Senator Lisa Murkowski, merely a spectator as she watches Trump restore diplomatic and business relationships with Russia.

“Right now, you have got to give him some space.” — Senator John Thune, the majority leader, on the GOP's public policy in watching Trump run roughshod over America and the world. Translation: "Right now we are all scared shitless but don't have the courage to make a stand."

By this logic, it would be legal for me to end him.

I actually hated them before now but since Trump was reelected, all I want to listen to is murder podcasts!

The Musk pronouncement that DOGE finds rampant corruption and fraud in government and he will soon produce proof sounds more and more like Rudy Giuliani's breathless claims that he will soon produce evidence of a stolen election in 2020. ... We are still waiting on both.

You may not have a legal and ethical government when prosecutors you hired would rather resign than follow through on your orders, and the remaining ones need to be locked in a room and threatened to sign the paper that Trump needs for his criminal quid pro quo with Eric Adams.

The Daytona 500 is tomorrow. Of course, Trump has announced his intentions to attend because he's not getting enough attention with President Musk around, and he figures a NASCAR crowd would give him a big ovation. Let's hope they boo!

Kevin Carey, director of think tank New America, on Trump's motivation for eradicating education at its highest levels: “I think the extremely strong desire is to just punish universities however possible. It’s not based on any kind of coherent policy agenda. It’s just a desire to inflict pain.”

Economic experts say the reason the stock market and investors have not yet been shaken by the Trump tariffs is because they are viewed as bluster. King Gorge never offers much detail, because he sees them as a cudgel and negotiating tool. Hopefully, more of our former allies will call his bluff.

To repeat my daily criticism of the American media for falling into the Trump attention trap, STOP WITH THE GAZA TAKEOVER FANTASY. It is NEVER going to happen. Stop insulting our intelligence.

I can't believe ... ... that the man exhibiting signs of dementia, gyrating wordlessly to music at a town hall event in October, was granted the right to dismantle American government, remake it in his repulsive image, and hand all the controls over to the richest man in the world.

I can't believe ... ... that while democracy is crumbling, rather than being constructive, Republicans are more interested in jingoistic branding — renaming the Gulf of Mexico; re-instituting the name Fort Bragg; and wasting energy on proposals to rename Greenland "Red, White and Blue Land."

Don't worry, everybody. Trump says he will make sure that Elon Musk does not have any conflict of interest in the budget cuts he's making. Trump is an expert on it.

In his Oval Office address today defending his very dodgy DOGE, President Musk used the word "transparency" no fewer than 20 times. His non-existent organization has yet to release any verifiable evidence of the great "fraud and corruption" that he cites in slashing money illegally. NONE.

Unless journalists agree to start acknowledging all the jingoistic shit Trump is throwing out — for instance, deigning to call it the Gulf of America in reporting — they will not be invited to join press events. The AP was disinvited today.

Apparently this combination of a spoon and a fork drives Trump crazy. He seems to think it is a product of the Department of Education. It was invented in 1874. The DOE was was not instituted until 1980. He rage-posted about this earlier today before deleting it.

Although I live in the Cradle of Liberty, I am feeling as if Trump is making me susceptible to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Trump is planning on attending the Super Bowl Sunday night in New Orleans ... because nothing is allowed to be bigger than he is. A sitting president has never attended the game. This will be a nightmare for Secret Service agents.

The Bully has spoken.

To all you voters against Biden because of the plight of Gazans, how do you like this bit of ethnic cleansing in the name of real estate development?

Hey, Sen. Cassidy, It looks as if your personal Jesus has just undone your conscience-saving "deal" over vaccinations with RFK Jr. To that, I say, "Physician, heal thyself."

The dictator without a clue.

Since the day after the inauguration — when staffers arrived at the United States Digital Service offices to see a yellow sticky note on the door redesignating it as DOGE — Elon Musk has been running amok. The details are spelled out well here. No pay wall. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/03/u...

This is why we are fucked, and have no recourse. Trump has erased the third branch of government as what's left of the judiciary is in his pocket. His administration will ignore court rulings, and has the backing of a corrupt DOJ staffed by his CRIMINAL LAWYERS. www.rawstory.com/trump-justic...

The MAGAverse has to adopt a new hat. Trump's cancellation of foreign aid, hostility toward other nations and ridiculous tariffs set to upset the global economy will push unstable nations into the welcoming arms of the Chinese. Xi Jinping and China will step into the breach Trump has created.

The incongruity of these two bumper stickers speaks of the disconnect of MAGA Idiocracy.

Elon Musk has shut off access to my Social Security account. No one I know can access theirs now.

An Elon Musk staffer misused the U.S. Marshals Service by falsely invoking their authority to intimidate. USAID security personnel were threatened with action by the federal Marshals Service.

“Our strategy on tariffs will be to shoot first and ask questions later.” — one of Donald Trump’s key economic policymakers to British journalist Gideon Rachman late last year. And that seems to be exactly what is happening.

Pardon him for the intrusion.

The death toll is mounting under Trump, here in America and abroad. His unceremonious cancellation of foreign aid will result in more death from starvation. The bottom line? He is taking food out of the mouths of starving Sudanese in order to line the pockets of his broligarchy with rich tax cuts.

“Hopes that Trump’s tariffs threats were merely bluster and a bargaining tool are now crumbling under the harsh reality of his determination to deploy tariffs as a tool to shift other countries’ policies to his liking.” — Eswar Prasad, a trade policy professor at Cornell University

I'm curious as to why the leading aviation expert in America has not yet diagnosed the cause of the Learjet crash in Philadelphia. All Trump said was, "Sad." Perhaps it's because all six victims and the plane were from Mexico, so he doesn't really care.

Trump going through with ridiculous tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China tomorrow. His worshipers are about to find out that it is not those countries that are going to pay for this but US. Those egg prices will look pretty insignificant soon, Mr. and Mrs. MAGA... Thanks for everything you did.

Wow. The new White House press bimbo makes Sean Spicer look like a bastion of excellence. There must be a string in her back that Trump pulls to make her talk.

Trump surely had some inkling that the Blackhawk copilot involved in the collision was a female when he blamed DEI, and the fact that a WOMAN might have been involved, fitting Pete Hegseth's assertion that women soldiers weaken the Armed Forces, plays into his narrative. Disgusting.

In Trump World DEI is responsible for the spread of the wildfires in Los Angeles, the degradation of the U.S. military, the assassination attempt on Trump in Butler, Pa., the container ship crash that took down Baltimore's Key Bridge, and now the first U.S. air disaster in 16 years.

The bigoted bully wins again. Shortly after the inauguration, I noticed Alexa would respond to even loosely political inquiries with a few of seconds of silence followed by a sad beep. Now, it has a cowardly rejoinder: "I cannot provide content about any particular political party or candidate."

Flashing back to election night, I knew our democracy was over when I heard that batshit crazy anti-abortion billionaire Bernie Moreno was projected to win the Senate race in Ohio. I then shut off my TV and went to bed. It's been a nightmare populated by batshit crazy billionaires ever since.

There is no egg shortage or price gouging going on in Boston supermarkets. I guess that must be a benefit of being a coastal elite!

@warren.senate.gov I note that you are still active on Twitter. I want to let you know now that I am taking a pledge to not vote again for any politician that continues to use that vile platform. Get off!

Kristi Noem in pathetic cosplay. She is probably carrying her dog-killing gun.

There are only three NFL games left in the season. I feel like a junkie, looking at the dust in the corner of the baggie and crying.

Another happy sighting today: a great blue heron walking the balance beam at Leverett Pond. This is the first one I have seen anywhere in at least two weeks and the first one here in about a month.

I witnessed more successful waterfowl fishing today than I have in the past two weeks combined. Here, a great cormorant maneuvers a catfish for the swallow. It took a while with lots of turning and tossing.

A handsome hoodie swims away, happy to have found some viable water to fish. I love these ducks, and miss them outside winter.
