Scott Perry getting acclaim (not from me) for signing George Hill and Zach Randolph and then parlaying that into a job with the Knicks before it was clear how awful those moves were was hilarious. The only thing more hilarious would be them rehiring him.

Over the last 5 years, I've probably had Bam between 3 and 5 in my center rankings on avg and Sabonis around 15-18.

been woke on that one

I don't care how many points, rebounds, and assists he puts up in the regular season, Domantas Sabonis just isn't a difference-making player to a high-level team. Showing why that's true again tonight.

And then they put in Devin Carter with Ellis getting 3 to guard Klay, but Mavs use him as the screener, Carter doesn't help and Exum gets a layup.

Nice play call to get Thompson on the backdoor after Ellis gave up a few threes to him and wanted to stay topside

Here's the moment the ball becomes loose off LaVine's own bad pass. He's one of the fastest guys in the league. Here's how the play ended.

DeRozan's contested 3 a bit earlier--he's definitely more comfortable shooting those than wide open ones. Shoots about the same on contested and uncontested 3s for his career, which is a rarity.

Another one after missing the 3. Went for the "steal" by jumping for a hopeless interception, then wasn't back and LaVine got a layup. How do you manage to shoot a 3 and be the last one back?

AD hasn't come close to getting or setting up a good shot in these isos against Sabonis. Kings haven't had to send much more than the standard help.

Bulls fans now want to root for Dallas (tied with CHI in standings) and MIA (below them) to win so Bulls will be the 11th seed in the lottery.

I guess we're going to find out what an offense run through Anthony Davis every time can do. He was looking pretty gassed by the end of that first segment.

yeah they had some solid wins. Any team that's trying will have that, especially with their transition style. My point in general though is that any trying team will get to 35 wins.

Pathetic transition defense by AD. Tried to draw a foul on Sabonis on a J, ran directly to the ref while Sabonis ran down for a layup.

The mighty Southeast Division really flexing its muscles in these East play-in games

Chicago was better than expected this year even before the trade. However, getting to the number of wins they did means less than ever before because there are so many easy wins vs tanking teams down the end. They're further away from ultimate success because of this run.

Good thing Chicago traded for the 11-30 portion of their 2025 pick back as their primary asset in the LaVine trade to enable this scintillating postseason run.

This is an absolutely ridiculous series of Warriors mistakes. Two fouls in the last minute by supposedly solid vets Draymond and Looney that put Memphis on the FT line with zero time going off the clock. Memphis has scored 5 points while possessing the ball about 5 seconds.

That's the right call, Looney ripped Edey's arm off the ball.

That's the right call, can see it up here. Looney ripped the ball out of Edey's hands.

If Looney sets a screen, foul him immediately since he's part of the action.

That's just an unbelievable shot by Steph. Double pump, off balance, defender still in his area.

Also pretty weak to have to rely on Jon Konchar to guard Steph in this spot.

Huge challenge here, either Edey's 6th or Draymond's 5th. Warriors think Edey held Draymond's shoulder down.

Pretty rough position for Tuomas Iisalo to be in that he HAS to play one of Edey or Aldama defensively against Steph. I thought they could maybe try Vince Williams in that spot but he can barely get on the floor.

Pretty weak that Santi Aldama can't get that rebound 1 on 1 vs Gary Payton II

Nope--reverse angle I hadn't seen yet showed contact. And Edey has 5.

Edey strip was awkward but looks clean on the replay. Guessing it's overturned.

Steph with a sarcastic thank you from the refs after that call on Pippen.

This is a tough play to call a flagrant on because he pulled up suddenly for a floater.

Scotty Pippen Jr has been awesome on Steph. Grizz are just set it and forget it in that matchup right now.

Watching the Grizz go with Jaren as the screener is weird--I'd almost forgot they even had that as an option. The Ja/Jaren PnR was dominant at the end of games Ja's rookie year. Jaren only set 2.7 direct picks/game this year.

Warriors setting that screen for wrong. Set it flat so Edey can't go under, force the guard to help and then pop out.

First 2 plays of the 2nd half were scripted with this. Meanwhile, Memphis looking for Edey more at the rim.

Matchups on GSW stars per NBA Advanced Stats: Scotty Pippen Jr matched up 4:23 with Stephen Curry. Nobody else for more than 1 min. Zach Edey had Butler for 1:58, Aldama for 1:57 as the primary matchups.
