Freshly shorn, top lip actually visible, and almost fifty. Young me wouldn’t believe this stuff.

Literally all my books are in KoboPlus. Love a subscription service that doesn't require me giving exclusivity. 💚✌️

Depressing brilliance from my pal Ruben Bolling.

Speaking of #KoboPlus, if you’ve got a title included, maybe drop it here or quote-post? For those who don’t know, KoboPlus is a subscription program (like Kindle Unlimited) that Kobo runs that *doesn’t* require you to be exclusive to the program. I put everything I indie release into KoboPlus. 💙📚🏳️‍🌈

#WritersCoffeeClub Is there a book you wish you’d written? Meaning "someone else’s book"? No. Book I wish I'd *already* written? The pew-pew polyamorous queer dude alien bounty hunter romance. I was so into it, before the publisher crushed the hope I’d get to take part in a shared universe.

“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” A classic quote from Malcolm X, who was assassinated 60 years ago today.

Brain-work is also part of writing. Walking the dog while you let yourself mull plot points, chatting out character notions with someone, doodling little plot webs or other diagrams—all of that is writing too, not just "I got X words on the page today."

Migraine overnight, and today everything feels over-bright and tastes slightly salty. That "everything goes salty" postdrome thing is a symptom that only showed up when I hit my late thirties, and I could truly do without it. Salty tea is gross. Probably going to eat chips today, though.

Dear Ontario, so many of you didn’t vote last time. Those who didn’t vote made up the majority. Please vote this time. You can really make a difference. At advance polls, you just need to bring ID if you don’t have your card yet!

Look, I get you gotta make your coin, but I can’t help but feel for authors with a long tail who are in charge of their platforms (ie: indies) who’ve stuck entirely to Amazon, now is perhaps a solid time to take maybe a title or three and make it available wide. I realize that’s easy for me to say.

More of this, please.

This is a great big THANK YOU to the Canada Council for the Arts & their Public Lending Right program! Every year The PLR Program sends payments to creators whose works are in Canada’s public libraries. Registration is open now until May 1st! publiclendingright.ca

I'm really pleased that the petition to amend SFWA's bylaws to amend the defintion of "political activity" got 189 signatures, sufficient to force a membership vote. This is a technical change within one organization, but it's about whether our professional associations will stand up for us. 1/

#WritersCoffeeClub Did you grow up with creative people? Artistic, crafts, writing etc? My mother did pottery, floral arranging, and ceramics—but it was always framed as "hobbies" not something to be taken seriously (this mostly came from my father, but was never challenged).

We need more than ever to make this country a safe place for all queer folx. That starts by ensuring everyone, including kids, has access to information. There aren't suddenly more trans kids; with well-informed and accepting adults around, there are more VISIBLE trans kids.

Remember me saying March 4th and feeling a wee bit unprepared? …make that March 25th. And… exhale.

Things I’d never heard about before today.

At 66% indeed, but that 199 is taunting me 😂 it's a good morning to support spaces for aromantic stories www.kickstarter.com/projects/cla...
