Every town has an Elm Street. Every town also has that one store that sells things like multiple copies of Boston Terriers for Dummies, half of season two of Hung on DVD and a Morpheus funko pop. There’s also a broken plasma tv hanging on the wall and it’s always showing a PBS animated series.

I remember watching Raising Arizona when I was a wee little kid so the tone was so mystic and dark and a little scary. Now, it’s an incredibly offbeat movie to me with wonderful performances and dialogue and direction. But so much of it feels like a long, dark trip.
