There is no such thing as a "reckless pedestrian". According to TIMS (tims.berkeley.edu), in the last ~13 years there have been 1388 pedestrians that have been hit by cars in the city of Berkeley. The vast majority of those occurred while someone was legally crossing in a crosswalk... 1/4

Cyber trucks just showing up like nazis in a bar

The next time someone brings up “reckless cyclists” in a thread about reckless driving, be sure to mention that “reckless shoppers” pushing grocery carts are a danger too. “Lower Extremity Review” Magazine” confirms it! lermagazine.com/cover_story/...

Block the bike lane much? Sheesh Germany do better.

JOB: Berkeley is hiring a new Transportation Division Manager! Please share widely. The City needs a leader committed to Vision Zero and sustainable transportation! wbcp.applicantpool.com/jobs/1182604

A driver killed our neighbor Michael Burawoy last night while he was crossing Grand Ave in the crosswalk in front of Fairyland Our hearts reach out to his family, friends, students, and everyone else mourning this tremendous loss www.eastbaytimes.com/2025/02/04/o...

Cycling parents: It’s pouring rain. School is starting soon. The kids are crying about getting wet. You have to leave now. That car is looking inviting. What do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO!?

Our statement on Elise Lusk’s tragic death.

Sitting in the observation deck on the California Zephyr train from Truckee, and the mentions of Trump literally decline with each stop.

Yet another pedestrian killed in North Berkeley, this time at Ada St and California St outside Monterey Market. North Berkeley is a deadly stew of elderly drivers beyond their prime + pre car streets designed for slower traffic + no traffic safety improvements www.berkeleyscanner.com/2025/01/26/t...

The effect of car culture: otherwise great people, totally co-opted by perverse car oriented policy and incentives. These folks need to be rescued from the cult, not ridiculed IMO.
