underrated reason for public tuning out is just that people here have little idea of consequences of activism and messaging since "Make Kony famous!" telling you to "PAY ATTENTION!" all the time

the fact that this is so unlikely has bugged me all day it's like the amount class power you get by being a member of Congress is inverse to how much you're willing to rock the boat during or after your time there of course some would rather not return; they already got their golden ticket

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable. Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes. Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.
