While the team's future is dire, I'm hoping that all Bucks fans make the time to tune in for Game 5 on Tuesday night, and soak in every moment of Giannis' greatness. We've been so fortunate to have this man call this team and this city his home since 2013. Watch as if it's his final game with us.

Dame injury is brutal, of course, but this entire series the Bucks have looked like a terrible team with one really good player. Assuming they now go quietly into the offseason, it’s hard to see how things get better. Salary cap hell, no draft picks, no Dame, paying a slew of ex coaches… not great.

It’s currently 10:11am PST, and the 10am Bucks vs Pacers game has STILL not tipped off… ESPN game coverage is seriously unBEARable. But I have already gotten a full days worth of hype videos, pundit nonsense and commercials. Ugh.

Working in youth sports, the vileness & cruelty of the current administration has reached even us. Parents are afraid to register their children & coaches are afraid to track player attendance via sport apps out of fear of monitoring, apprehension & incarceration. Children…trying to play sports.

If Fox News is your only daily news source, you a) have NO idea that 6M people protested in 1400 locales yesterday, b) that the federal courts are on the verge of holding the Justice Department in contempt, and c) that stocks are already down 1500 in pre Monday trading. This is gross negligence.

Has anyone noticed how a significant % of Gen Z folks can't seem to pronounce the letter "T" when it's in the middle of a word? For example... the word "buttons". They pronounce it "Buh-ins". Manhattan = "Manha-in". Meeting = "Me-ing". Super weird, and once you hear it, you can't stop hearing it!

The people you surround yourself with shape who you are. We like to think of our morals, ethics, and behaviors as entirely within our control, but the truth is we are nudged by those we spend time with. It is why forming the right culture is vital to any team or organization

Just a Brewers fan suffering through their thorough destruction at the hands / bats of the Yankees this weekend, but I have to admit that the Imperial Star Destroyer alarm sound effect with 2 strikes is pretty awesome…😆

I can’t remember an NCAA Men’s Basketball tourney in my lifetime that has been less interesting than this year’s event. The insane unpredictability that made it March MADNESS and a money making machine seems to have been destroyed by the NIL & transfer portal phenomena it helped create. Ironic.

Deleted the Xitter account today... took me way too long to do it, but I couldn't take it anymore. Good riddance.

Just finished reading “A Gentleman in Moscow”… what an absolute masterpiece. So well written, and such an incredible story about the deep, deep meaning of the relationships we maintain through our lives… sad it’s over!

An unwilling partnership is, in fact, no partnership at all.

1972. The “I love you” at the end gets me every time…

You know what would make everything okay? An R.E.M. reunion tour…

There’s been a (supposedly) data driven movement to define the modern Gen Z sports fan as a “fluid fan”: someone who follows & cheers for players rather than teams. I personally don’t see a lot of real evidence to support the claim, outside of perhaps some stat driven interest related to gambling.🧵

The Bucks have showed a lot of grit this season, recovering from a horrendous 2-8 start, but this has been a nightmare road trip that has exposed just how old and shallow this roster is. This looks and feels like a team desperately trying to remain relevant… not much relief on the schedule horizon.

Not sure what disgusts me more… the assist this officiating crew has given James Harden tonight, or the 0 point performance from our $35M man, Khris Middleton. 🤮.

Brewers baseball with Ueck on the call were a huge part of the soundtrack of my childhood. The summer evenings sitting on the patio listening to the game with my grandfather, or in the car with my dad with the AM dial tuned to 620 WTMJ. All Milwaukeeans today rightfully mourn the loss of an icon.

Starting to think maybe Jordan Love ain’t the guy… would be very happy to be wrong though. #gopackgo

95% of sports parents fail to understand this.

This same issue is dominating youth sports. Practically every conversation occurring within the youth sport industry at the moment is focused on the financial opportunity… little to no conversation about the wellbeing of the kids / families upon whose backs that financial opportunity is being built.

Let’s make 2025 the year we engage in sport, and in fact, all of our personal activities, purely for their own sake… not for the sake of some desired future outcome. The joy found in the moment is worthy enough. 241play.org/2021/12/20/s...

High school and youth sports are so valuable because they get at our basic psychological needs: -We belong -We can make progress -We can have an impact It's not about achievements. It's having a space to challenge ourselves in a healthy way. Don't ruin sports, parents!

We are one Georgia loss away from the “bye” teams going Oh-fer in the #CFP. Seems the extra time off isn’t a benefit at all. That said, Oregon rolled out quite possibly the worst game plan I have ever seen in all my years of watching football. Epically bad. Unprepared in all 3 phases.

At 70 freakin’ years old…a mighty good man, indeed.

Organized youth sports, at their core, should be focused on delivering just one thing: a foundational skill base which will allow the child to engage in the sport joyfully for the rest of their lives. No other goal or outcome is correlational, worthy of an org's focus, or a family's investment.

Packer fan here… and I’m just gonna be honest. Jordan Love, at this point in his career, is as mediocre as it gets. Doesn’t play with confidence or intensity needed to win big games. Jacob’s’ great season has allowed Love to be adequate, but get out to a lead and take away the run? It’s game over…

Kids (and adults, for that matter) will experience more development, inclusion, belonging and JOY from playing organic, pickup versions of their favorite sports than any structured, organized, or "select" version of the sport will EVER provide. It's the house of cards secret of the entire industry.

I agree with this thread 100,000,000%. As we talk about the boom of the youth sports industry, this is the part we're not talking enough about... those with the most influence and making the most money are selling pure snake oil. The part that doesn't get enough attention? ⤵️

My advice to sports coaches from grade school through HS has always been the same… Coach the team you have, not the team you wish you had. Success is helping THIS group of kids improve, gain confidence, and find belonging. When you focus on the controllables, wins & losses take care of themselves.
