As CEO of the entire universe, this is My official endorsement of universal healthcare.

📣 Excited to share our latest @apajournals.bsky.social publication on addressing racism in psychological science. 🔗 psycnet.apa.org/doi/10.1037/... Honored to collaborate with @nchavez.bsky.social, @mindfield-drj.bsky.social, and Dr. Helms, scholars dedicated to building a more humane future.

It’s an inconvenient truth: if we claim to care about EQUITY, we must protect people from COVID at work, schools, health settings, etc…the most disadvantaged are among those disproportionally impacted by acute & long-COVID. We need courage to speak up, clean the air, mask up in the name of EQUITY.

New research shows that even mild COVID-19 cases in young adults can lead to changes in brain structure and function Changes were linked to deficits in spatial working memory and cognitive performance www.psychiatrist.com/news/even-mi...

"Even as Americans live longer, they spend more of their years in poor health than any other country, a new study shows."

📚New Book: To echo Frantz Fanon, we need to build a decolonial society that represents all of us. Together we can advance decoloniality in psychology and strengthen the development of an equitable, inclusive, and just society. Learn more 🔗 www.apa.org/pubs/books/d... @nchavez.bsky.social

Dear Black community, let’s center our healing and continue to resist! My Chicago Sun-Times piece explores #radicalhealing for Black Americans thru personal/collective care, #radicalhope, and #joy: “Radical healing isn’t enduring—it’s action rooted in care, resistance, and hope”

THIS IS AMAZING NEWS!!!

“Let's build What we become When we dream” -Nikki Giovanni 🌼

Healthcare should be free for all! As Jesus intended.

☀️ #RadicalHealing helps people develop strategies to recognize and resist self-blame for racism and other forms of oppression; it's the art of creating hope and liberation behind the pain. @nchavez.bsky.social @jionilewis.bsky.social @graceachen.bsky.social

One of the single best things you can do for us on #InternationalDayofPeoplewithDisabilities is to wear a mask. Make public spaces safe for us again. Join us in demanding masks in healthcare. Refuse to leave us by the wayside.

You can get sent to jail for stealing toilet paper but if you hire a dozen children to work overnight shifts at your slaughter house your company pays a fine

Non-White scientists appear on fewer editorial boards, spend more time under review, and receive fewer citations www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...

Illinois has put an end to the injustice of cash bail. And it’s working better than anyone expected.

Me as a child: "I really don't understand why people would move to the woods and isolate themselves from society." Me today: "Oh, I get it..."

Covid is a social justice issue - it always has been. We need to recognize it & start providing: - Free tests & respirators - Paid time off - Clean air in public spaces - Mandatory masks in healthcare - Universal healthcare We won’t beat COVID until everyone is protected

Immigrants aren’t taking—they’re giving. To the culture, the economy, the community. Stand for immigrant rights. 🙏☀️

Concerning data showing spike in heart defects in babies born after pandemic- possibly links to growing evidence of cardiovascular disease and diabetes risks pose-Covid in unvaccinated children and adults 🧪

“The fact that more neurons are encoding a traumatic memory may explain both why these memories can be hazy and why people tend to overgeneralize fear from the original event to other experiences.”

'The scale of the problem that Covid is posing for individuals and society appears to be on a par with climate change: too big to tackle, so we look away. Or make light of it'. www.theguardian.com/world/2024/n...

My fellow non-Black Latinos, it’s been time for us to address the anti-Blackness poison that is so pervasive in our community. Here are some steps to begin the process.

Kamala didn’t lose, we all did, as individuals, families, and communities. Not electing her will not just impact this country, it will have repercussions world wide!
