The last barrel of the day. This is the second Highland Park and it was working on stage 4 on its rocks. Given that the other two barrels are reworking many of the stones from their tumbles. I decided to take a few out and rerun some of these and a few others from previous runs through polish again.

Next up is the first of the two Highland Park barrels. Most of these stones in stage 2 will be returning to stage 2 this week. In there reply I've attached some videos of some of the stones to give a better look. #Rocktumbling #Rockhounding

It is rocks Saturday and there are some bonus Caturday pictures too. The first set are the rocks in the Vevor in stage 1. Unfortunately many of them will need to be re-run through stage 1. #rocktumbling #rockhounding #caturday

This is a direct attack on the First Amendment. Regardless of how you feel about DEI, teaching any element of it is protected by the First Amendment. This is a federal prosecutor attacking the curriculum of a private Christian college. Inexcusable.

The second and final set of pictures for this week come form the second Highland Park barrel. This one was working on a stage 4 polish. Not all stones did well unfortunately. there was a chunk of white onyx that was too soft and it did not shine well.

Continuing the rock tumbling posts. This is the first of the two highland park barrels. These rocks were in stage 3 and will be moving on to stage 4 for a final polish. Expect more photos of these stones next week.

It was rock Saturday yesterday but I'm a day late. This week the large vevor barrel was working on some stage 1 stones, many will go back in for another stage 1 tumble. #rocktumbling #rockhounding

On a recent episode of the Advisory Opinions podcast a joke was made about a law / lawyer metal band named "Tears of Scrutiny". I couldn't resist using AI to make an album cover for the fictitious band. So here it is, the album "Erga Omnes" by "Tears of Skruteny" @davidfrenchjag.bsky.social

Two more barrels were cleaned out this week. Next up the first of the two Highland Park barrels. This barrel was working on some stage two stones. The stones moving into stage 3 along with holdovers from last week were enough to make a full stage 3 barrel.

Rock Saturday with lots of pictures. First up the stage 1 barrel.

A quick update on the replacement apps for Google I've experimented a bit and like Notesnook to replace Keep Notes and strictly using Firefox (browser, DuckDuckGo search) and HERE WeGo (maps) now. Share with your friends and hit them where they hurt the most.

Since it wasn't a good day to do rock tumbler Friday, It is rock tumbler Saturday today. I am feeling much better but still a bit under the weather. Whatever this illness is it was one heck of a bug. In any case the first tumbler is the larger Vevor. It was working a lot of rocks through stage 1.

No rock Friday this week. I am very sick and do not have the energy to do anything at the moment.

So far the HERE we go app on Android and their mapping sdk seem to be retaining the proper name of The Gulf of Mexico. I don't have an idevice but I assume there is a HERE app for IOS too. The Android app has real time traffic and directions. A great alternative to Google, Apple, and Bing maps.

Quick everyone let's all watch an American sport while eating a whole bunch of Mexican convenience foods!

Weak men cannot compromise. Weak men cannot build consensus. Weak men think that leadership means force. Weak men build nothing that lasts.

It is rock Friday again. This week all three barrels are working rocks through the early polish stages and they will continue on the same stages again on this week's cycle.

If you're like me and wishing we were done with these unprecedented times, know that we need you and we need you at your best. Engage as you can. Rest when you need. Take breaks. You're not alone. We're in this together. This is as much a reminder for me as you. 🥴

This amounts to the most significant data leak in cyber history. Private individuals in the data business now have access to your Social Security information. This violates privacy laws in every state. Hopefully, state AGs will file suit & pursue criminal charges. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/01/u...

The latest batch of finished polished rocks. This round was a bit red jasper heavy.

What a shallow, shriveled gospel we claim to hold if it doesn't include the things Bishop Mariann Budde said in her sermon. "Because God has extended hospitality and mercy to us, that requires us to extend hospitality and mercy to others." Kaitlyn Schiess on 🎙️Holy Post 654 (link in bio)

Found something fun in the last batch of tumbled rocks! One of them fluoresces orange very strongly under UV
