Predictions for when is the first time we’ll see this headline for an ai agent? www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Ok that’s enough

A British person sees the sun for the first time in months:

I curate a monthly newsletter about AI - here’s February’s 👇🏻 aixinsights.substack.com/p/february-r...

48% of Brits believe it is more important for the UK government to support Ukraine than to maintain good relations with the US

It’s not listed yet, but I’ll be speaking at the London AI Engineer meetup in a couple weeks— see you there? lu.ma/f73ey9hz

We've launched a bullish quality promise: test our AI agent side-by-side with any other AI agent and if we lose on quality, we'll pay you $5,000. www.linkedin.com/embed/feed/u...

Friday pet peeve: Github could save themselves a lot of money & save the rest of the world plenty of time if they just gave us a tool to test actions locally

This is why LLMs are both awesome & scary

I finally broke my public speaking hiatus at the end of last year & spoke at a fintech workshop in London & at the MLOps Community AI agents in prod conference. The links are in this post (the photo features my "try not to wave your hands too much" pose) blog.gradient-labs.ai/p/safe-ai-ag...

Read good fiction books to repair yourself. Consume and create good art and send notes to people whose art you love. Drink water daily. Sometimes stop for a sec during your day, look up at the universe and marvel at the laws of probability that allowed you to be alive to enjoy it. Eat Nutella.

Nice write up of the story so far of the UK’s AI safety strategy (whether you agree with the direction or not is another matter) www.politico.eu/article/brit...

Fun list on resources for leaders in a crisis, but what some tech leaders need to hear most is that not *everything* is a crisis www.edbatista.com/2025/01/a-re...

It’s hard to overstate how much uv has improved the lives of those working in Python.

New LinkedIn feature idea: an "I'm feeling lucky" button that randomly accepts 50% of your connection requests and rejects everyone else.

Am spending my whole career telling Data people to look at individual examples (& not the averages) and telling Engineers to look at the averages (& not just an individual example)

Your code is only an agent if it comes from the agéntique region of France. Otherwise it’s just a sparkling LLM call

My 8000-word note on agents: huyenchip.com//2025/01/07/... 1. An AI-powered agent's capability is determined by its tools and its planning ability 2. How to select the best tools for your agent 3. How to augment a model’s planning capability 4. Agent’s failure modes Feedback is much appreciated!

It’s Saturday, so: 1. Get espresso cup 2. Insert (one) gianduiotto 3. Pour espresso on top 4. Add a splash of milk froth 5. Stir & sip ☕️ 6. Scroll outrage online because of recent events 😞

Still unsure of what to make of the 🌊 of candidates who send LLM-generated ‘cover letter’ emails. All of those emails sound exactly the same

Watching some UK politics documentaries; I never connected the dots: 🇺🇸 2024 “they’re eating the dogs” 🇬🇧 2003 “they’re eating the swans” amp.theguardian.com/media/2003/d...

It's been a long time since I've been involved in anything #recsys related, but I'm nurturing a theory that the dominant use of implicit data explains why discovery is so hard these days. People streaming music (!= listening), streaming movings (!= watching).

I’m not writing an end of year look back post, but after working with it for the last 12+ months, do recommend you check out durable execution
