The convergence of design (e.g. in websites and web apps) and architecture is starting to create a universe of same-ness that I don't like. I have a major longing for quirky, weird, "suboptimal", and "just for the sake of art" decisions instead of everything being optimized and economized.

We solved so many problems so well that most people don’t know that they were ever problems, and so their base assumption is that this is the natural order of the world when it’s actually a fragile system held up by an expansive administrative state…which millions just voted to dismantle.

I recently added Oban to my project for some long running, oft-failing jobs that call the least reliable third party service of all time. So far it’s been a delight 🤌
