Privatisation is the fundamental reason why water is in crisis. The only other country with fully privatised water is Chile. We’re a global outlier, clinging to a failed Ponzi scheme while our rivers choke and bills rise. It’s time to bring water back into public hands.

About time somebody pointed this out. Tories played a blinder. Government used to fund around 50% of council exp, they cut that funding in half from 2010 onwards but only allowed council tax increases of 4% pa. Councils then blamed when services had to be cut to balance the books.
