What are their 30 yr fixed interest rates like? www.nytimes.com/2025/04/16/s...

Very excellent use of pre-header copy @nymag.com 👏

Its not that voters thought tariffs were good exactly - most Americans (according to polls) do not know what a tariff is. It was just a word being thrown around in the 'who will make economy good' debate. Given the relentlessly negative media coverage of dems, they went with Trump.

I really can’t wrap my head around congressional Democrats’ response to the past 12 days of crises. It reeks of pathetic capitulation. Trump is asserting dictatorial powers of absolute control over the entire government and the reaction is “we don’t swing at every pitch”? An appalling abdication.

I think it’s important to underline here that doing this to the federal government is illegal and a breach of the constitutional order

The folks over at @jacobinmag.bsky.social are done with 2024.

That time of year where I'm reminded that boomer parents are fine with single-use water bottles, paper napkins, and coffee pods, but they insist on using the same dish sponge they've had since Desert Storm.

You know we're down bad as a country when Marco Rubio is considered a measured cabinet pick

How are these amicus briefs used by SCOTUS? I am confused by Justice KBJ’s interpretation of the term “officer.” The historical record seems clear that that was an edit made to make the language less redundant, but that it affirmatively includes the President. www.supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/23...

@caseynewton.bsky.social awesome hearing you and Kevin on Longform today. The detail about the origins of Hard Fork made me think that you guys should try to line up an interview with Michael Lewis to discuss his new book – about SBF and crypto more broadly.

Please clap. Uber’s latest financial results include an honest to goodness operating profit, “for the first time in Uber’s history." https://www.theverge.com/2023/8/1/23815332/an-uber-change-of-fortunes

if you really admire someone’s work, let ‘em know. Not even because it will make them happy, but because it’ll make *you* happy. When someone brings you joy, it’s such a relief to share it.

I need the orca Vox explainer pls

Getting stuff onto an Apple Watch (music, podcasts) is consistently the most frustrating experience I have with tech. So thanks, @marcoarment.bsky.social for letting me play a game while I wait 🤝

@janecoaston.bsky.social I am confused. You took over The Argument from Ross. Then decided to leave the show after a while. But now... Ross is back in the feed with a new argument?

@aoc.bsky.social are there House members who you spend time with specifically because they help sharpen your mind? Maybe you disagree with them, or they're more experienced than you, and you choose to be in their company to learn from them.

He's here!! @weatherwest.bsky.social I was about to DM you an invite code over on the bird app. Welcome! 🤝

[as the titanic sinks] bandleader: now we'd like to play something off our new album guy clinging to railing: boooooooo

tfw the social network is so fresh and clean that you can be sitting on your couch playing the new Star Wars game and get a little love —despite typos — from a legend like @rianjohnson.bsky.social ✨🤌
