I still really don't like the term "enshittification", seeing as 90% of its use-case is "this new thing is mildly inconvenient, sorta cringe, or otherwise doesn't vibe with my nostalgia, this is clearly evidence of the total collapse of western civilization."

Sometimes it's really hard to have optimism whenever I see the YouTube sidebar. "People are generally intelligent and rational." *glances to multiple video essays made by grown-ass men saying the world will implode because they don't find Pokemon fun anymore* "...ignore that, please."

Something that irks me is when people complain about "enshitification" and then proceed to nostalgia-wank about how "great" the old internet was. Buddy, you threw a tantrum because a new menu is mildly inconvenient to you, you would straight-up die if you tried to actually browse older websites.

I feel like I'm going insane watching people elsewhere on social media treat a Pokémon Company tweet where they "got the Pokéball wrong" as serious drama. Like, yeah, game devs have a bunch of ways to spawn in stuff for testing and promos. You can't be "sus" when you own the friggin' IP.
