Happy Earth Day 🌍

When Andrew Tate was charged with rape and human trafficking, Trump intervened to fly him back to the US. When a working-class father of a disabled 5-year-old child was wrongfully deported and charged with NO crime, Trump refuses to lift a finger.

Our cat Spirit is quite sick with Type 2 diabetes symptoms. Her illness came on quite suddenly, but I should have taken her to our vet sooner. She has always had extreme vet anxiety, so we’ve tried to avoid the stress of it. She is still eating and drinking, so we’ve cloistered her.

If Trump wants respect, he can start by respecting the laws of this country and ending his coup. indivisible.org/coup...

I am not a scientist, nor do I have a science degree, so when I first heard the word transgenic, I looked it up... I thought the folks on the right were really good at doing their “own research.”

Ten Democrats voted to censure their colleague Al Green. Here are their names: Ami Bera, Calif.; Ed Case, Hawaii; Jim Costa, Calif.; Laura Gillen, N.Y.; Jim Himes, Conn.; Chrissy Houlahan, Pa.; Marcy Kaptur, Ohio; Jared Moskowitz, Fla.; Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, Wash.; and Tom Suozzi, N.Y.

Exactly this.

Alina Habbard posted: NOTHING CAN STOP THIS MAN FROM FIGHTING FOR HIS COUNTRY. David Simon had a succinct 2-word response: “Bone spurs.”

I’m sorry to say it but: The emporer is actually naked.

NEW: Senator Marshall (R-KS) RUNS AWAY, fleeing his own town hall after being asked about DOGE firing Veterans. MAKE HIM GO VIRAL.

This is Winston Churchill visiting Washington DC to request assistance in the war against Germany. Notice he is wearing a "zip suit" and not a traditional suit. This was to honor the British troops--the same reason Zelensky dresses the way he does.

Cyber attacks are the main way Russia engages us. An important bit of context as we choose an alliance with Russia over historical alliances with richer and more reliable countries who, to state the obvious, do not attack us all the time on cyber.

This is how we roll! I always carry a few pocket copies of the U.S. Constitution to share with the folks who lodge us.

Marco Rubio today.

Looks like tomorrow will bring votes on a Republican plan to fund tax cuts for the rich by slashing Medicaid. So this is a great time to contact your Member of Congress.

When companies invest in DEI, they invest in people. Now's the time for Target to stand firm in its values, not retreat. Will you add your name to call on Target's leadership to reinstate its DEI programs? sign.moveon.org/petitions/ta...

This is a beautiful piece of writing and a good experience for the reader.

"The term DEI, frequently invoked by the Trump administration, functions as a smoke screen" read @adamserwer.bsky.social on the real goals of the 'anti-DEI' rhetoric www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

If you’re cheering for a South African sociopath to fuck over US military veterans then you should probably stop with that America first bullshit.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Republicans want to pass a bill that would disenfranchise someone you know. The SAVE Act is the GOP’s attempt at mass voter suppression disguised as an election integrity bill — and we need to get loud to stop it: indivisibleteam.medium.com/maga-has-a-b...

“Imagine what it would be like if each one of us were to wake up every morning with the intention to ease suffering, help others, and spread joy.“ I read this last night and thought about it throughout the day. I really like going to sleep with this thought again this evening.

For respite, I’m leaning into music, art, and humor. Yesterday, I went to an incredible live jazz show. Here’s a snippet of the Terell Stafford All-Star Quintet Playing the Music of Charles McPherson With Special Guest Ted Nash. Special thanks to the We Always Swing Jazz Series in Columbia, MO.

Don the Con has to go! It’s snowing and the roads aren’t great here right now, otherwise I’d be at a “Not My President” President’s Day event.

This is off to a good start. Anyone want to be in a reading group with me?

This administration has convinced half the country that the real problem isn’t billionaires who evade taxes and collect government handouts but the working class who pay taxes and get nothing in return.

From @theathletic.bsky.social: Team USA heard “The Star-Spangled Banner” booed before its opening game at the 4 Nations Face-Off, despite the announcer urging fans to be respectful. The crowd's negative reaction stirred a range of emotions in the American players. nyti.ms/4aYHocU
