Ensuring nobody gets food they didn't "deserve" or "earn", the administration will now just GIVE money to farmers for the food they are NOW throwing away: www.nytimes.com/2025/03/31/u... Note: they are SHOCKED that canceling $40 BILLION in food orders, led to food growers being short on orders!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-e...

Here @davidfrenchjag.bsky.social makes the case that Hegseth must resign. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/24/o...

🚙 💰 While the cameras chased shiny objects, the Trump administration moved to enter homes without warrants, torch DEI at law firms, recall Cybertrucks again, hand out cash to voters (again), and fold USAID into a blockchain-powered austerity husk. 📲 Subscribe free → govbrief.today

My god. I wish I’d had her presence of mind at her age. Entire letter (extremely well-written) attached.

Every single time she opens her mouth? I have more hope than I did a minute earlier. #aoc #politics #democrats #uspolitics www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwVK...

🔎 Declassified, defunded, dismantled. Trump wipes out war crimes data, slashes HIV prevention, and erases FTC guidance—while judges block his transgender military ban and EPA cash grab. Roberts rebukes impeachment talk, and Nebraska voters erupt over Musk, Ukraine, and Medicare cuts.

Any interest in the whole Venezuela deportation "WTF IS GOING ON IS THIS LEGAL", here is your read, one of the smartest guys in the biz (literally wrote about this issue in 2003 daily): www.stevevladeck.com/p/132-five-q...

Did you receive a grant from the EPA for a climate change project? The FBI might charge you with fraud. For receiving a government grant. That you applied for. In every way legally. "If you apply for something you might end up in jail, you'll find out LATER" is a special way of eroding trust in gov

I made this comment elsewhere, but people forget how deep the Canadian anger is at injustice, because for nearly 200 years it's exclusively been focused on helping others. That just builds the "nice Canadian" mythos. We will 1000% not be nice towards attacks on our identity. #Welcome4thTerritory

I don't think people remember how nuts Canadians can be when pushed into a corner. The US would fail at an invasion for one reason: we'd blow up the handful (and it is a handful) of the bridges linking the two countries. 1/2

🥊 The administration is making dangerous moves: denying citizenship to U.S.-born children, gutting the Postal Service, plotting mass deportations, and threatening annexation of Greenland while drawing up plans for increased troop presence in Panama.

This. This is what joy in the new generations looks like.

I doubt anyone would argue US shouldn't be able to deport immigrants convicted of crimes. So, why deport someone who is NOT convicted? It's the antithesis of "only going after criminals illegal immigrants", unless you can just define "criminal" retroactively?

When S4 of #TheBoys drops and you realize you only watched 3 random episodes of S3... That's a weird catchup to do! Holy crap, but thankfully I DID see the herogasm episode previously so I wasn't as shocked :D

this, this, this!

Oooooh. I mean, in like 6 months since I just started new gig, but Ooooooooh.

No.

Insane.

omg omg omg @mmasnick.bsky.social just said "thanks". If you know me you know I don't care about most folk who think themselves important. Mike is the man. Fuck I haven't had that type of moment in ages and I'm mocking myself lol.

Yeah. This is the other point that's so important. We *need* decentralized systems across the board to protect democracy. We need people to have the power to control their online experiences, rather than oligarchs.

If you were extremely online in the early 2000s, this is like the Hatfields and the McCoys joining hands and singing Kumbaya: www.nytimes.com/2025/03/0…

Hire Tris! I have, at least 3 times, and I've never regretted it!

Contract signed :) No announcements for a bit (gonna group them together), but now I have 3 days of nothing specific to do :D :D :D #jobsearch

It's probably pretty sad that my weird brain immediately said to itself: RINGTONES! *headshake*

Whoop. #vaguebook

As always, one of the smartest (and kindest, and weirdest and most accordiony) guys evar is bang on. Follow @accordionguy.bsky.social if you dare (like: you like tech, startups, and randomness with a touch of *snap snap* sass).

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F. 18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it. We made this website to tell our story: 18f.org
