Well when you delete an entire K-funding mechanism meant to diversify future faculty it's going to have some impacts. Reduction in force in academia as fall out. What a generation of lost academics passionate about their missions.

What you aren't seeing in this data is the number of undergrads, grads, medical students, clinicians, postdocs and early career scientists that this is directly impacting. What you also won't see are the cures for diseases and therapeutics that won't be developed because of these NIH-restrictions.

Just found out my MOSAIC K99/R00 wasn't reviewed but was moved to another Scientific Review Group, which I thought was promising news. Actually no. It was pulled from the review process...because it was a diversity grant. #NIH #MOSAIC #postdoc #neuroscience I am going to miss #academia.
