Me, sitting on the floor of my 7YO’s bedroom in the dark, trying to help calm her anxiety so she can get to sleep, checking my phone to see that all my friends are playing Civilization together:

Weird time for me to have finally started reading The Shock Doctrine

He needs to understand that if he comes up to lay across my work desk like this in the middle of the day, I *am* going to give him little kisses on his nose

The vibe lately

I am very ready to be hurt again

I'm so excited for more Golden Idol

The only Monster Hunter I ever spent significant time with was World, but I enjoyed it a lot, and it was a great game to play with friends -- EXCEPT for the bit where every player had to, like, "catch up on cutscenes" before they could join co-op hunts they'd never done before. Did they fix that?

Guy at the bagel place: "Nate?" Me: "Nate? That's me." Guy: *reaffirming* "Yeah, Nate, here you go." *hands me a big paper bag* Me: *arrives home to discover the big paper bag contains two smaller paper bags with "Paige" written on them* 😐

me all this week

I am having quite a stressful day! I would like it to be the weekend now!

just use emulation you weirdos

"Meta has spent over $100 billion on VR"

My kids were at my dad's last night, and this morning he called me and said "Hey, the weather's lookin' iffy and we're havin' a great time over here, why don't I keep them for another night?" and it's the most electric thrill I've felt in a year

I’m playing The Crimson Diamond right now and deeply enjoying it. Parser games are a different flavor of puzzles than other adventure games, and this one does a wonderful job of giving you the ol’ subtle thumbs-up when you’re on the right track.

Have y’all played this?? Anybody who liked BioShock back in the day owes it to themselves to put some time in with this one. Don’t be put off by its age, it’s pretty approachable. I had fun with it, anyway.

Honestly if it's this tweet that lands me there, I'll be so put out

Me in 2023: "I'm a millennial, I'll absolutely never be able to retire, ha ha ha" (but my secret hope: maybe if I'm lucky, I will...?) Me in 2025: "I'm a progressive, I am absolutely ending up in a concentration camp" (but my secret hope: maybe if I'm lucky, I won't...?)

It's good that I quit teaching high school in 2021 because I would absolutely be fired for failing to suppress my political views in 2025

Having a hard time summoning the effort to set healthy boundaries for my children's screen time this weekend

How bad will it get? How quickly? How much will ultimately be salvageable, and how long will it take to rebuild?

I thought I was gonna have to make myself wait until the Spring Sale to get a bit of a discount on Trails from Zero, but now all of a sudden it's become imperative for me to finish all the other stuff I've been playing so I can head to Crossbell and continue my journey in Zemuria

Morning backyard visitor

Sitting around waiting for your car tire to be fixed is not great for morale

We love to try and work in the waiting room of a car dealership, don’t we folks

I just had a rear tire blow on me while I was driving through a busy intersection. It was kinda scary! I was able to pull into a parking lot nearby and swap it out for the spare, but I’m pretty sure I’ll never have the hiccups again. 😵‍💫
